I don't think 'best PVE gear' is really that important unless you want to do vet trials for the leader boards, speed runs, etc, in which case you run them in normal to get weapons/armour and upgrade them anyway.

ZOS seem to be trying to make it so that crafted gear can once again be up there with some of the best dropped sets, which might benefit crafters at the expense of the trial scene. Trait changing is also coming into the game soon, so that will help some people who don't have much luck getting their desired traits.

The game changes, keeps evolving, some think this is bad, others think it is good - I just go with the flow keep moving on.

    I mean... What?
The problem is that the majority of people have turned MMO's into socializing as if they were outside the game. For a lot of people, gaming is an immersive recreation so we can forget about life for a little bit. And as Beardimus labeled it, there's a difference between social chat and tactical chat.

I don't mind communicating about raid mechanics, or if I have to, inform my PvP group that there's enemies behind us, etc. But to me, that all pertains to the game. If somebody starts incessantly prattling about their day, work, their children or whatever, or asks me something... I just want to get off voice right then and there, I don't need to sit there forced to listen to that just to get the group activity done that I wanted to do.

That should not be a requirement for playing a cooperative game, and ya'll shouldn't shame or look down on people like that for still wanting to enjoy the fun in a game that brings to life the world of Tamriel, with a lot of other players roaming around in it also making it feel alive. They have the right to experience that, too.

Being antisocial doesn't prevent you from being a fantastic raider, learning the mechanics yourself so that you don't need guidance and someone handholding/calling things out for you, etc. I can understand that's unavoidable for PvP, where informative callouts are much more useful and it's not as easy as a memorizable fight that you've done numerous times.

I just dislike voice because people inevitably go toward real life topics, when I just want to chill in Tamriel for a bit while still being able to partake in multiplayer gameplay that I'm no less capable of. It's easy to see why someone might avoid voice for those reasons. MMO's aren't just for extroverts who want to chitchat about their lives.

Anyway, that's bs. I have a guild I socialise with. Play PvP, farm gear, chat bs about whatever.

Then I have guilds for trials and stuff. They post in text chat they're doing it. I jump in guild chat, do the trial while most talking about the trial, leave till next time. You don't have to do anything beyond that.

Dude im just as socially inept and i love ESO. Talking to people isnt a requirement to playing, especially when the majority of the content is practically a Singleplayer experience.

just join a high activity guild and sooner or later someone will come looking for help. Thats how i did all my raids- i never planned or looked for a trial- sure i wanted to go- but never was it feasible. but inevitably people look to get a trial going, and 2
dps can't make it, or another guy drops out , or someones girlfriend turns off their computer , etc- and in the chat someone will always be like "LF2M dps vAA - must have experience and discord" . at which point you lie - say you done it squllions of times and that ur dps is like 40k+. hopefully you can do decent dps- and you know how to follow instructions and you ll be fine. i d gone from never doing one- to doing them all in a week- by pretty much doing that - and getting gold jewellery in all the trial gear also. theres alot of trial activity at the moment especially in areas like craglorn. but writing "cp600 lf trial vSO" in zone" you ll never find a trial pugging. cos pugs dont finish vet trials- well communicated guilds on discord do. so join a decent trial guild- do a few normal runs- find out who the leader is- and ask if you can join. that ll be as much talking as you need to do.

and you'll get you shot in a raid that way. much like life- whenever I've gotten a chance to move up in a company or job - its simply being in the right place when somebody dosent turn up to work - and putting ur hand up to say "i can help". thats how most people who havent got wealth, prodigious talent or connections on their side move up in the world.

if you havent got that attitude towards the game- well indeed life- then i m afraid neither is for you- and you won't go very far in either.

maybe it's better for all that you don't like communicating with eso players in game...

you could try hanging around the entrance of the different trials to see if there are any other random type people milling about...after a few days you should have 12...

oh yeah - better have a screenshot of your dps available (hmmmm, how do tanks & healers validate their "trials" competency), i heard that was a thing...

don't trials take like hours to do? are you just gonna lurk the whole time?

(I probably should have realized this a lot earlier lol). Anyway I hate being in a guild socializing with people; I mean I do like to cooperate to complete challenges, but I have no intent or wish for chatting very much with players in ESO, except when there's some technical discussion about game mechanics etc. But guilds tend to be a lot about socializing with others too, being friends etc, I just cant stand that. So anyway when this fact dawned on me I found out that doing what I most like in this game will never be possible with raids, so... I kinda lost my motivation to play now. With the above in mind, anyone can offer some good ideas to make me keep my motivation anyway? I'll happily listen, thanks. (And before you say something about "everyone needs friends" remember this is a game, not the real world. I have friends in the real world, I like them and we socialize ok?)

    Guilds work like this
    • RP guilds - you do not socialize with others, your character do.
    • PvE casual guilds - you socialize with others.
    • PvE HC Trial guilds - you do not socialize with players, your dps is all they need.
    • PvP guilds - they do not socialize with you, all they need is your ultimate and ability to stack on crown
    • PvF guilds - they socialize with you only because you have more fishing bait then them.
    • Trade guilds - they do not socialize with you, all they need are your shekels.
