Bug: Dragon Scales reflects AOE

I was solo defending a keep, and killed 4 enemies but was taking massive amounts of damage. My death cap claimed I diad to "Thunderous Rage" 25k worth, the AOE that the guards were spamming. The only enemy left was a DK, spamming wings. All the guards were mine, so how'd this ability even touch me?

Unlock Elemental Storm -> morph to Elemental Rage -> equip a Lightning staff -> it's now Thunderous Rage

....aka stationary Destro Ult
