Templar Build Question

I've been wanting to experiment with different builds and I was thinking about a Templar Healer/Tank. This wouldn't be for trials, but for 4 man content. Anyone have any experience one way or the other? I saw these builds to play around with... but they're old. Was hoping for some fresh perspectives if anything has done something like this....

Funnily enough I have been thinking of doing something similar when soloing. I was considering using the heavy armour overland set from deshaan, which raises your health by 7k, the mighty chudan monster set which raises both resistances by 7k in total and health by another 1k, and the light armour treasure set from volenfell, which adds nearly 4k in critical damage. I would use mostly magicka glyphs.

What do others think of this?

I would revert to normal tanking gear when doing dungeons.

Guess no one has done this or has any positive feedback... Too bad because it sounds like it would be fun with three DPS

    Self-healing is some powerful mitigation.

My 5(light)/1/1 armor magplar healer can grab a WB by the nose and Sweep him to death - as long as she keeps EleDrain and Channel Focus up. Maybe a potion or two to help with magicka and the destro ult to help with damage a couple times.

That said, she can't taunt - only 'soft holds' him by damage in his face. And while focused on going toe-to-toe with a boss, she's got to be totally focused on herself and surviving (blocking and such). There is no way, while doing this she can heal or support others.

On the other hand, if there is a real tank there to properly hold the boss, she can keep almost any group alive, and help both mag and stam fighters with resources and debuff the boss. . . .

I would not want to try keeping up with the tasks of tank and healer at the same time.

PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo

A tank with self-heals, that can sustain themself and buff the group is a good tank. Templar tanks should have no problem. Warden tanks work well, I don't see why a Templar tank couldn't.

However, do slot a taunt. I prefer Pierce Armor from the One Hand and Shield line since it debuffs as well as taunts. If you don't want to run one hand and shield, at least have the undaunted taunt Inner Fire for when you need a taunt. I suppose that Ice Staff heavy attacks will also work, but Pierce Armor is far superior.

Templar is possible to tank/heal and doing a bit damage. For Difficult vet dungeons specialists are needed more. For speedruns i really like to have a tank, who do the healjob too. But warden can do that much better then any other class!
