No it didn't, it took severe buffing, while nerfing mag sorcs, to make them relevant again. Remember than mnbs were obsolete for several patches until they got buffed. Nothing to do with "time to figure them out".Americanfunguy wrote: »Oh hey that's my warden on the leader boards. Or was. Wonder why said coordinate groups don't play them more then.Americanfunguy wrote: »In well coordinated groups, one magplar and one mag warden will provid more buffs for the group than two temolars. They just need to be given the chance.
Oh they most definetly are not.Americanfunguy wrote: »All in all I think mag wardens are fine. Though dps may need a small increase.

However my warden mains as a healer. I personally believe (and this is only an opinion) that wardens cam be better healers than templars. I think that once people figure out how to play them, they will get the credit they deserve.
From my experience healing, my warden has much better group stack healing than templars, but templars have the brain dead heal that is BoL. Because of that heal I believe is why people do not let go of their templars.

Here is a cbm of a fight I healed on my warden.

This is agaisnt what they will be competing coming next patch.MLGProPlayer wrote: »Americanfunguy wrote: »Oh hey that's my warden on the leader boards. Or was. I agree that healer is the warden's strongest spec and they may be more viable than what groups think (although I don't think they can overtake templar).
However, magicka warden DPS needs a lot more than a "small buff". Right now they top out (self-buffed) at 28-29k DPS with a raid build (using destro ult instead of bear). That's with optimal gear and rotation. The other magicka classes can all hit in the 34-37k range. This gap is even more problematic at lower skill levels. Players who don't have optimal gear or rotations are going to be hitting <15k with their wardens. Basically, magicka warden needs a buff to its DPS of at least 6-7k to be viable, and that's a HUGE buff.
However, it still wouldn't truly be viable due to having no utility skills. Warden DPS abilities only provide DPS. They don't provide any buffs/debuffs for the group (this is what allows classes like templar/DK/NB to stay relevant as magicka DPS).

Ya, a "small increase" is a bit of an understatement.
