Linchal Grand Manor Purchase Extension

On behalf of fellow guild mates and friends on the affected areas of Hurricane Irma, I come to request an extension for that home limited sale, please. I know many will argue that we can't make concessions for everything because then everyone will want one or that victims of such disasters won't care about buying a virtual goodie but truth is that since we can't buy the house from outside the game it becomes impossible for the ones who left their PCs behind to buy it, and many don't have access to the fast internet or hardware to enter the game. Finally, it is revenue for ZOS as those people are adamant on buying the manor.

This isn't what you are asking for obviously but it may help.

It may help to ask for the concierge service from a CSR named Mykael - it does seem that some of the CSRs are either unable to do this or unaware of the program.

That seems like a reasonable request.

As player that lives in South Florida, I would genuinely apppreciate an extension on the Linchal Manor's availability as we still have yet to have our power restored. If this is at all possible my partner and I would see it as a huge act of kindnesss on behalf of ZeniMax. We appreciate everything that you gals and guys do. <3

This is one time I would agree with an extension - not that I'm against extensions in principle, but it's not really possible to set time limits that would accommodate all players. However, since a good number of players are affected by this event that is out of their control, and it is a known time-frame, I don't see why they couldn't extend it by a few days as a gesture to all those affected.

Sure, it's just a virtual item, but it could be morale boosting for those affected by the hurricane who really wanted to get it.

Hah, first world problems are quite unique, where a disaster comes and goes and people are more worried about this.

Snarky remarks aside, these things should stay in the crown store and should not be time limited.

But that's cut throat marketing and business these days.

I reckon we all know if you submit a ticket detailing circumstances that they are likely to be reasonable, and that a blanket extension likely nit going to happen. These forums are crazy for people pretending to not know obvious things.

I really love the look of the house, but 14k in crowns is way too expensive for me. :(

Although I don't live in a area affected by Irma, I agree ZOS should make an exception this time and extend the time for purchasing the manor, or don't have it time limited at all.

A friend of mine is down in Florida helping with restoring power to cities, but will miss buying this house he's been talking about for a month because his computer is back home in NJ. Can we please knock it off with these "exclusive weekend only" sales?

Sell it at a steep discount at first, and just leave it on the crown store for people that missed the sale, at least.

Major disaster in Florida and players from there are worried about being able to buy the new Manor that is completely useless instead of worrying about how they are going to restore their damaged real property. This is something I really cannot understand and makes no sense. Nuff said.

As someone who survived Hurricane Katrina after getting lifted off the roof of my home by a helicopter as flood waters rose I can tell you that sometimes its the little things that get you through. Something simple, that may not seem to mean anything to you, can be just the one glimpse of happiness a person needs to make it through a horrific situation. I don't really think its really important at all if you can understand it, because to the people who have been through situations like this, we all know how sometimes something that is logically insignificant can make a world of difference.

This isn't the place to debate limited crown store offering on the whole imo, but I think in a case like this there should certainly be concessions made.

I beg to differ. I live on the coast of North Carolina and have been thru my fair share of Hurricane's over the years. Many of which damaged my property. To me my priorities where with getting my property back in order not worrying about a useless manor in a game. However, to each their own. I do agree maybe an extension is in order for those that are worried that much.

Reasonable request, I hope you get an extension even if it's an NA only one.

This is very important information, thank you. I'll forward and update the thread.

I can offer a small point of view from the ones I been in contact with. Lots of people didn't have their property damaged but were forced to evacuate. Lots of people also have insurance on their houses but those things take time. Lots of people already reserved the Crowns to purchase the manor. The key problem is being unable to buy Crown items from the website, trapping the person to a computer with ESO installed.

They should just bring back old stuff on regular basis, like after one year or so.

I want games without psychological marketing tricks and exploitation of online and gambling addictions.

This right here. I was mightily tempted because the house IS really nice (tho small in comparison to the grounds it sits on) and would have made an amazing library/university. But then, Irma, and I was "saved" from the temptation by losing power entirely for several days. Not to mention the additional expenses brought on by the storm that precluded me shelling out over a hundred bucks for a DIGITAL item. ZOS has lost their minds when it comes to their prices on these places and the "BUY IT NOW OR IT'S GONE FOREVER!" is just a sleazy tactic in general.
