Everyone who thinks 40 runs = 40 Transmute Crystals are in for rude awakening...

Read the patch notes...

Transmutation requires Transmute Crystals, precious resources occasionally received for successfully completing Veteran PvE activities such as Pledges, Trials, and Arenas, and several PvP sources such as Rewards for the Worthy, Battleground end of match rewards, and AvA end of campaign rewards. Transmute Crystals are an account wide, capped currency which cannot be banked or traded.

The 1:1 drop rate is only for PTS...

Whatever, it means I at least am working towards a perfect item with each bit of vet content I do.

Seems like in all the threads about transmutation, a lot of people think that they are guaranteed a drop in every vet dungeon...

Personally I think this will change since the "re-trait" system is such a huge selling-point for the CWC-DLC. I would either like to see them changing the amount of crystals that drops or lowering the amount it takes to re-trait an item.

Currently, doing a Veteran Random Dungeon will only rarely award you a Transmutation Geode.
We'll be increasing this to always award a Transmutation Geode from a Veteran Random Dungeon in a future PTS patch.

Why do you think it will change... it costs I believe 120 dwarven construct parts to make the test dummy from HoF...that is 120 runs of HoF...120... this is for an item that does not affect balance at all...

Yes...its a bug right now...they will be dropping in PTS at that rate...not on live... we will see...but did everyone think that ZoS would make it easy to re-trait weapons and decrease replay value of their MMO...

You can buy those parts at least.....

I think it will change due to the feedback they get from those testing it on the PTS, that´s why.

Hah some people was really thinking they'll go few times on vet content and get enough crystals to retrait everything they want

Btw personally I think it's very good change. Makes retraiting possible but not brainlesly easy.

This isn't meant to be the only means of getting BiS though. If you need gear which is a dungeon drop then you can get that at the same time.

If you're doing dailies each day for keys/shoulders/content then you have 3x shots a day by doing vet dungeons.
If you're farming a set you get # of bosses & chests shots at the perfect trait item + a shot at the gem at the end.
If you're doing end game PvE you get shots every trial you run.

If you're a PvP player you get life even easier and just PvP for your shots at them (you literally get them for doing what you love in PvP).

Again this isn't a system which is designed to re-gear your entire character every update, it's designed to give people who have done 200+ runs of vMA the ability to turn one of those staves into the perfect trait they have been after.

I agree its better to make it rare drop.. But 20 runs is more than enough to make it rare and attract players to vet randoms. Making it too rare won't cause anyone to run 100 randoms only to hange traits of 1 item..

Yes, this only last till the next patch where ZOS changes the stats, the mundus, the CP, the skills and you start all over again. Just now by nuking vMA into the waste.

This, too rare and its just end up as an nice bonus nothing most will farm.
However random veteran will generate an problem with lots of players queuing for random veteran hoping for the easier ones.
Pledges is a bit better as most will not do dungeons they are far from ready for.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

    Definitely.
I think it should be 1 per item, since we tend to have so many different sets to play with. If it takes a little bit of grind, like running a couple dungeons vet or normal or a single trial or farming a boss 10 times or questing a little then I would like it.

yes, it would be logical to assume that the drop rate will be pretty low. hopefully not too low, so that it would become impossible for casuals to get the crystals

I think you should only use this feature for special items, not your entire inventory. And I'm just going to play as normally, not farm them, and eventually I can change something I really want etc.

I think this system helps with really bad RNG, like doing 700+ VMA runs and still not getting a sharp inferno etc. it should not replace farming/playing the game.

with 12-14 parts that can be morfed, it requires 480 - 560 crystals for every patch!
how will you ever loot this between 2 patches?

oh and not to think about the unwanted changes ZOS does to your gear, by "optimizing" your gaming experience, LOL

give up my job and only play eso for the rest of my life?
    Not really, but
giving up eso and playing something more satifying? Yes, that may be a questionable solution!

    *BiS= Best in slot

See, as I mentioned before somehow Community Abassadors are the first to justify developers decisions over players opinions.

Just look, how many players you see who support the idea to make a good hundred of vet runs to get one item trait changed? It's only you, the Community Ambassador.

You don't reflect community opinion, same as other Community Ambassadors tend to do. You are simply payed talkback, they gave you special status so you feel obligated to them.

I see no problem with that bro, if you ask me they can even pay people to do this, but why it needs to be so ridiculous being named "Community Ambassador"? It's like someone made it as a joke
This isn't a replacement system for grinding for gear though, it was never meant to be that from my understanding and no token system has ever been that in an MMO.
Token systems are designed to reflect how bad RNG can be, so players who have done the content tens or hundreds of times but never had their item drop can cash out to get it rather than face RNG over and over.

People seem to be expecting more of this system than it's intended to deliver.

ZoS does not want everyone to have that coveted (insert trait) gear...if it was made too easy...it would be like being able to dupe the best weapons in the game... why do you think duping is anathema to rpg's...people lose interest in the game because there is no "Moby ***" to strive for...

Wait... this was something people didn't realise?

Whatever, it means I at least am working towards a perfect item with each bit of vet content I do.

spending endless time in dungeons is not my definition of playing a game to have fun.
it is boring and it is dissappointing that this is needed and BiS* is only till the next patch
    then you start allover again

    and to do some maths:
with 12-14 parts that can be morfed, it requires 480 - 560 crystals for every patch!

    You are wrong.
I hope they require 100 and not 40.

Why? Why would you want to farm 100 dungeons to change 1 item? Why do you consider that fun or a good us of time?

I think you should only use this feature for special items, not your entire inventory. And I'm just going to play as normally, not farm them, and eventually I can change something I really want etc.

I think this system helps with really bad RNG, like doing 700+ VMA runs and still not getting a sharp inferno etc. it should not replace farming/playing the game.

The 1:1 drop rate is only for PTS...

yes, it would be logical to assume that the drop rate will be pretty low. hopefully not too low, so that it would become impossible for casuals to get the crystals

It already is impossible. They said it requires pvp matches or leaderboard placing from pvp/vet content or veteran dungeons/pledges.
What casual player does any of that? How much of it do they do?

This sounds like another super grindy annoying system that will be ignored by new players and casuals alike, not attracting anybody but the few crazy enough to grind a lot who have been here a long time and getting saltier by the month. I'm definitely noticing my sodium-chloride content rising.
