A Steam question if I may please?

Hi guys. I was just wondering something about the Morrowind expansion and hoped you all might be able to help please? I bought the game retail when it first came out. Would the steam version of the Morrowind expansion work if I bought it through steam or do I need to buy it from the ESO site? Any help appreciated and thanks.

you need the matching set. both steam or both not steam. it even says that in clear text at the top of morrowind in steam.

Not entirely accurate. You can redeem a Morrowind key (and Gold Edition key) in your ESO account, even if your base game is bought through Steam.

For OP tho, no, this wouldn't work. You can buy the game on Steam and then redeem a regular Morrowind key on your ESO Account page, but it won't work vice versa.
