What do I get when I purchase morrowind seperatly?

Bryan627842nub18_ESO
The upgrade alone cost $40, if I went to the store and purchased an entirely seperate version of morrowind for $60 and made a new account would I have all previous DLC's?

Already spent over 150 bucks on the imperial version on release and I jumped on to try it out and found a chest I couldn't open in the first 15 minutes without purchasing the thieves guild DLC. Curious if I get all of that in the upgrade or if it's a better route money wise to just by a new copy of the game for the cheaper price since morrowind came out

I believe the Morrowind expansion gets you Morrowind and the vanilla eso. Also get the warden class. I do not believe buying Morrowind includes the DLCs.

Chests have nothing to do with the thieves guild. There is no limitation on opening them. Only troves and you should not see those if you don't have the TG.

As for Morrowind, buy the upgrade if have the game or standalone Morrowind whichever is cheaper. Stand alone acts as an upgrade if have the game
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Chests have nothing to do with TG or DLC's.

You need lockpicks to open them, if you lack lockpicks you can't open the chest. Lockpicks are apart of the base game and have been since launch. Nothing to do with DLC's.

Since you already own the game (via your Imperial Edition purchase) you only need the Morrowind Upgrade for $40.

The $60 version is for brand new players who don't own the original game. It does NOT include the DLC's.

If you want the DLC's you must purchase them via the in-game Crown Store or get an ESO+ Membership for access while subscribed.
