Are you tired of frequent major balance changes and having to adjust your build every 3 months?

Yes, balance changes are too often and I don't want to change my build and farm new gear each time when a new update comes up.
This feedback is a bit too late, though. I have a feeling that the changes with Morrowind weren't even half of the shift yet to come.

So many things need to be improved now because of those changes, my archer is worse than before, heavy attacks don't seem balanced between the different weapons and my Magsorc needs a crutch from an organized group just to deal a portion of the DPS that my stam characters can manage without any help.

I'm not against needed changes and balancing if the changes are made more gradually, and done with a light touch. Drastic changes every 3 months are what frustrated me in the past. No player wants to feel like their character is being destroyed every 3 months, or even every 6 months.

There are actually two issues here that need not necessarily go together.

One is how much balance a person feels that the game needs. Clearly it needs a lot.

The second is how frequently ZOS make big changes. Personally , I'd hope they do a load of big changes and leave it.

Not only is it a PITA to farm new gear all the time, but the barrier of entry to Endgame content is changing faster than improving players can keep up with it.

Imagine being the guy in my guild who wants to improve his build and is now getting conflicting information to what he was getting a few weeks ago...

I don't mind 'changes' unless they are too drastic. Turning the game into 'heavy attacks online' was TOO DRASTIC IMO. They didn't need to nerf everything that offered resources, they could have left armor passives the way they were. With those changes instead of making resources valuable, as they intended, they made combat boring and time-consuming.

Like with most people that voted the same way, I too tend to just roll with the changes... most of them being necessary... but turning ESO into 'heavy attacks online' was not one of them at least to the extreme that they nerfed everything to create that type of combat requirement.

I liked the way the game was played when I started several months ago... Good story, good graphics, balanced characters and challenges... Unfortunately, the game has changed dynamics considerably. I have one of each class, close to the same level, skills, etc... And since Morrowind dropped, there's undeniably a HUGE difference in playing with the classes. While they're all feasible to play with, some classes now are not even a challenge... My strongest character, was a Nightblade/ Bow build. Now, it can't even compete on a fun level... I don't mind a challenge, but the dynamics have changed greatly... My lowest level character is a DK and it storms through anything it comes across... Just seems obvious they have a play style they're focusing on, and are gearing everything up towards that... Close combat weapons appear to be the main focus of the game now, while Magic/Bow/Stealth are just becoming frustratingly pointless. They can be used in the game, but won't hold their own the way they're tearing them down... Too bad! Hate to see it when a company starts needing a large part of their fan base. But, seems to be the new norm in MMOs....

Yep, have left many games that do this, and if the next patch is full of these nerfs/changes like the last two have been, done and on to next.

To preempt lots of straw man I see in the thread, tweaks to things are always expected, and few have issue with those. Morrowind and HOTR crammed way too many fundamental game changes into those patches. If next one is like those, it signals a trend of cheap "keeping interest" instead of legitimately keeping interest due to competent design and content additions, one that I won't participate in. Have seen it in so many games, it's a complete cheese way to keep people playing.

I discount at least 1/2 of the "no" answers due to game forum white knighting by family, friends, social media friends of the company, draw your own conclusions of course.

That's actually due to the way the game scales. As a character levels the stats it has decrease. This is intended, to compensate for the lack of passives on low level chars.

I just stopped bothering with the kind of content that would require me to grind for new gear every three months. I'm not missing out on much.

I suppose this is better than the multiple gear level increases we got the first year or so of the game. At least now your old gear can still be useful after it goes out of fashion and it could eventually come back into style again.

I didn't see anyone mention this, but this game has the best balance it had ever had since launch.

By that I mean you have a choice of many mundus that are all within 2-3% difference between each other dps wise. You are no longer stuck with just thief.

You don't HAVE to have a sharpened weapon anymore. You have choices like never before, that are rather close and within the %error of DPS.

Yes, stamina hits way harder than most Magicka builds, but we finally have a reason to bring 4 Stam 4 Magicka, rather than all Stam or all mag. Maybe for the wrong reasons, but it's an improvement!

Dks still reign as tanks, because their kit is just much better equipped at it than others. You can and do see other types of tanks that are very successful, but DK will always be the go-to tank because of its skills and group utility. Not much change here.

Same with Templars, their kit is much better equipped for healing than a NB sorc or DK. Wardens make good alternatives as well, and you aren't forced to be a Templar in competitive healing.

From a pve perspective, I've never seen a more diverse game at this point. I have a choice of over 10 sets that I can run on my mag characters that all provide within 5% of the same dps, with only gear changing. I can run the elf bane set on my DK and still manage 32k solo dps with HEALTHY jewelry and two heavy armor pieces!

I have choices like never before and it's awesome.

If you think this isn't balance, I don't know what you define as balance.

The only pain I've had with getting new gear is with the sharpened nerf. I had like 10 gold sharp Julianos staves. Oh well! It's very refreshing to know you no longer need 1 trait for a weapon, but rather several work.
