[Suggestion] ESO Official App

These are some of the thoughts I had, I'd be interested in getting everyone's feedback on it and any ideas you may have. Hopefully if it gets to be a big enough discussion we can catch someone's attention.

My thoughts was have a free version that everyone can access and an upgraded version that you get with your ESO plus subscription.
You would have to sign into it using your ESO sign in.

Benefits everyone would get would be (assuming it is possible)
1. The ability to track research and horse training
2. The ability to share your achievements to social media
3. The ability to chat with guild members and other ESO friends who have the app
4. Access to a 2D Test dummy that will let you test from your already known skills and owned equipment, to see different build options and test their effectiveness.

The ESO Plus Subscribers would also have the following
1. Get the ability to test the effects of any skills, armor and/or weapons that are in the game and see its effects on your character build and use those against the 2D test dummy.
2. They can plan set goals for what gear they are trying to get and will be told the possible places to farm it. (Not the best, just the possible)
3. Can restart research on new (if possible)
4. Can restart horse training (if possible)

What are your thoughts on this and do you have any other ideas for what could be in the official ESO app?

Additional Ideas submitted by others.

They should also add the ability to change the armor/weapons on your character, and ability manage your inventory/bank. Also if possible to list items on guild trader....this would be awesome!

I'd just be happy with being able to look up the inventory of each toon... so I don't have to log each toon in, searching for the gear I'm looking for..
Edit: Obviously I have massive inventory issues... lol...

To be honest, I would love to have an official database, whether it's an app or a website. The databases and wikis I use are all subject to misinformation, incomplete information, or information that isn't up to date. But ideally, an official one would remedy those issues. But I doubt ZOS would dedicate resources to the development of something like that, especially since third-party apps and databases already exist.

And if they released an app that let you test your builds they could still keep their numbers as private as they want and we could have a more accurate source to use to plan our characters out.

If they made a phone app with benefits of letting one feed its mounts on time and research/collect stuff from guild store etc, I would gladly buy that app for 10-15 euros.

    If
    - the app provides something that third-party/already existing apps do not provide
    AND
    - this official app is a paying app

Then ZOS could benefit from developing one.

I wouldn't use it (I play for the feeling to "be in Tamriel" so anything outside the game itself is not very appealing to me), but I reckon that OP's ideas are quite good.

Just being able to trade is enough to be honest , even only within guilds you are in .

Thank you. I kind of feel the same way. I just also want something to help me better plan how I build my character so that I can have more fun and less frustration from a poor build complimented by mediocre skills.

Suggestion: fix the heaping mass of bugs and half-assed QoL features in-game first before spending a dime on a useless fluff app.

Complex systems my friend, complex systems.
The bigger and more complex a system is the more work it takes to fix or upgrade it.
And by adding little things like this it can draw more people into the game which in turn can bring them more money, which in turn gives them more resources to fix those bugs that bug all of us.

A short-sighted profit motive is not complex. Many parts of this game have been broken for years while the management team has forced the devs to focus on "content" for the crown store. Retaining dedicated players would bring them more money than cranking out half-baked gimmick after gimmick -- WoW and Blizzard's resultant IPO are a testament to that. There's no excuse my friend.

Complex systems does not at all refer to their business strategy or methods.
Complex systems is a term in the business world that can refer to many things, in this case I was referring to the complexities and interconnected network of programming bits in a game like Elder Scrolls Online.
The concept of Complex systems refers to the idea that there is a point in time where things can get so big and complex that if you pull a tread in one place trying to fix a small bug there, then suddenly you find a problem in another place that seems to be completely unrelated.

As far as a business wanting profit goes that is the biggest duh moment ever. Of course a business wants profit. A business exists to make profit. Even a non-profit business needs to make money in excess of their expenses (ie profit) to be able to continue their charity work.

So while I do not know the exact reason the game has the problems it does I am grateful for what they do, and continue to try to do. I also do not know the whole story behind why they have the problems they do and why they are doing what they do, and the only thing any of us can do is cast judgment on them using the partial info we have. And as I do not care to have that done to me, I will not do that to anyone else.

Additionally in all truthfulness if you really stop to think about it the new and very aggressive release schedule they have announced (new content every quarter) only came out after they started adding all of the things like crown crates (which even I agree is a cash grab) and I anticipate that with all of the new content coming out they will also go through and get a lot of the bugs that annoy everyone fixed.
