i may be getting on a bit, but if memory serves me correctly, punk was long gone by the 80's and we had move onto New Wave and New Romantics by then...and they certainly had hair like this

As is, it looks silly and inelegant. As in, not something I'd pay for. Might as well just shave the whole thing off.
