Scrolling Combat Text Revamp - DoTs as Italics, Color Coded Damage based on Damage Type?
While the current combat text is useful for telling the player if you hit something, it isn't so good at relaying what it was you hit with.
Now, adding on too much would be a bit overwhelming in my opinion (ability icons and the like), but I think that the current system can be improved with minimal additional clutter by color coding damage and font changing for different application methods (DoT).
I suggest doing so by changing DoTs to be Italicized rather than colored orange (though they can still stay at their fixed location), and having the combat text color indicate what type of damage is being applied (fire, frost, poison, etc.)
