Morrowind "Expansion"

So, I bought the Morrowind expansion because I LOVE Dunmer everything. Tons of new furnishings, yay! Oh, mega grind to find them, and pickpocketing is extra difficult on Vvardenfell. (almost all homes are trespassing and NPCs flip 180 degrees to see you with no turn animation, instant bounty!) Battlegounds - meh? I really don't like existing PvP, so don't care.

What keeps getting updated? Battlegrounds.

Ooo, Clockwork City as a real place! Oh, it's base game DLC... that I get for free with ESO plus.

Is there ever going to be any expansion to Morrowind as an expansion? (like the additional areas) or will those be base game DLC too? Making the "expansion" literally a cash grab. >:(

I'm torn on Clocwork City - yes, it's really cool, and yes, the Clockwork City is
phsyically located below Amalexia's temple in Mournhold
so people would gripe if it was Morrowind only DLC. But really, why not make it part of Morrowind? See story for Morrowind (spoilered above). Why make us purchase this "expanion" if there is no intention to use it as anything other than DLC?

I'd really love to hear from a developer that yes, there is more planned for Morrowind as an expansion, and that new areas will not be part of base game DLC.

If there's been discussion on this that has developer comments on the future plans for Morrowind DLC, would like a link please.

My guess is yes. There are still two more DLCs coming before the next chapter and I'm sure both of them will revolve around Morrowind.

I hope so, but would rather have confirmation. Will determine if I scrape together extra cash for the next "chapter."

Bump. I would like to see an expansion in some form to the Vvardenfell area; there is the map portion in the north that is inaccessible, as well as a number of forts/caves that are inaccessible. Lots of detail yet that could be added. Definitely Vvardenfell ranks alongside Orsinium as my favorite additions to the game.

The amount of PvE content in Morrowind is a joke.

Have they updated any of the other zones with anything other then motifs?

Only reason Morrowind and future Chapters are called Chapters is to justify the higher price.

In every other way they are DLC.

PS. More payed DLC are not updates to a zone, it's an addition... that you pay for.

It's a cash grab either way. Vvardenfell is the same size as Wrothgar with even less content. The terms "chapter" and "expansion" are nothing more than terms used to get around the original ESO deal. Honestly, I'd have more respect for them if they were just upfront about the whole thing.

The map is 52% bigger than Wrothgar. But that's part of the problem. It hardly has more playable content than Wrothgarr (fewer quests overall but they are longer).

I was expecting Craglorn-type content from an expansion.

The only thing I can tell you is that Morrowind isn't an "Expansion"...it's a "Chapter" (basically an ESO-style DLC with new PVP content, a new class and fan nostalgia).

A lot of MMO "Expansions" mean an increase in level cap, plenty of new content to get to the new level cap and an increase in the time it will take for a new player to get to level cap. ESO's "Chapter" was more of a new beginner zone, adding to their mostly unique "no level restrictions/go anywhere" feel they wanted to give the game.

TL;DR, Morrowind themed DLC on the Morrowind map are a possibility but they would not (or hopefully should not) require the Morrowind chapter to play, only the base game to play (so a base game DLC not an...an..um, expansion-expansion).

Right, new beginner zone that we sold to existing players as almost a new game ($40 upgrade). If you were trying to convince me it was not a cash grab, then you failed. Also, why not expect DLC for this "Chapter"? It was 2/3 the cost of base game, for less than 20% of the content. Pretty sure that's a ripoff, especially for subscribing players who were forced to buy if we wanted to play.

I'm not trying to convince you it wasn't a cash grab. Personally, I've hardly logged into the game since I completed the main Morrowind story quest (which I went through casually from the start of the Morrowind early access till a few days after the "Chapter" fully released). I'm also not a loyal subscription payer anymore.
