The only true person among that stupid bunch is Abner Tharn.
He may be caustic but he always direct to the point.

LOL, was tickled to see the percentage on Abnur. He gets the *best* lines.

It's a shame that we were only able to sacrifice one of them in the final mission.

Done the main quest eight times! Hate them all by now. (Except maybe Cadwell)

He makes the right decisions. He takes the initiative. He gets things done. He is utterly loyal to the things he loves.

Compared to Abner Tharn the rest of them are nothing.

I can't help it. I love love, and thought Sai and Lyris were cute (and to hopefully be obvious to those who completed the main questline without spoiling it for those aren't finished yet, it was the driving force for my end decision). But, since I had to vote for just one, I picked Sai. He wasn't afraid to call her by an obviously loving pet name, while she was somehow still surprised and defensive when she finds out...what she does when you save him.

I will give Tharn credit and say that Sai did make some bad decisions that he called out.
Other than the little romance thing, I didn't hate them as much as others seem to, but none of them were that interesting.
Varen really caused it all, and essentially for power (at least securing it). He did seem to learn from his mistakes so I'm not gonna say I hate him, but he caused a whole mess.

For both Sai and Lyris, the fact that they went with Varen and Mannimarco's plan kinda brings them down (as I'm not a huge fan of completely blind loyalty), but the fact that they were both loyal and really seemed to care for each other and Varen was nice.

I liked Lyris overall. She was loyal and really cared for her friends. Her personal problems felt kinda thrown in there, but for an RP, I guess it makes sense--when you join a complete stranger in a place known for (what I assume could be called) psychological torture, you're bound to have random secrets and drama pop up.
I do like some of her quips against Tharn.

As someone said earlier, you really didn't get to know much more about Sai other than his feelings for Lyris and that for someone with dedication to fighting and wisdom, he doesn't really consider his enemies strengths when opposing them (at least outside of combat). But, he can be funny sometimes.

I wouldn't mind keeping Lyris and Sai as companions.

Abnur can be funny, but he's a pretty big d-bag. If he had a more caring side with it (I'm thinking of Gordon Ramsey on Kitchen Nightmares now), he might be my favorite. But, as it is now, I don't like the idea of slapping my friends...and travelling with him would be about 70% slaps.

All else are unrealistically heroic or stupid. Or both.

Not sure why anyone wouldn't want Dumbledore as their companion... yet... he is also always the one I sacrifice in the end because he is the one ultimately responsible for the entire situation. While I liked Tharn's sense of humor and commentary, he is also the one most likely to back-stab you if it helps advance his own agenda.

I chose Abnur tharn because he is the only one that injects a bit of conflict and drama into what would otherwise be a very boring kumbayah where everyone geta along.

I really didnt mind Sai and Lyris' romance, and I liked that it was a small side story between two other characters and not trying to force a romance for the main character in an mmo.

I do think Lyris is excellently written and is a very realistic, believable character and a better "female role model/stand in" than most weak willed flouncing fantasy females. She reminds me a lot of Brienne of Tarth from Game of Thrones (more the show than the book.)

Sai Sahan is probably the weakest written character, but has a good personality and an excellent voice actor (Sarevok from Baldurs Gate!). I think he could have stood to be a bit more complex than "great and honorable warrior who failed to bring back an ancient mystical warrior tradition". I dont mind that he screwed up a few times, like hiding an artifact in a crypt. It is a good example of his culture and mindset.

The safest place he could think of was surrounded by the honored and legendary ancestors of his people, in their sacret tomb at the secret and fabled school of warriors where he was taught. He thinks like a warrior, not a necromancer.

Varen isnt bad. He tried to keep the empire together after it was fractured by the longhouse emperors, and while he managed to conquer it militarily he needed to solidify his rulership. Relighting the dragonfires is kind of important. He definitely shouldnt have trusted Mannimarco though, its not like Vanus Galareon and the Mages Guild of Psijiics didnt know he was a megalomaniacal sociopathic necromancer.
