Need conformation on something. Was watching a live stream not to long back for game of thrones...
Is it True zos was offered to do Game Of Thrones the MMO and you turned it down... "We want to focus on elder scrolls online"

If this is true ...... You made the biggest mistake in game development history imo.

Note this is not a troll post... legit question.

I've no answer to your question. Though I would say that perhaps focusing on one already large and ever expanding MMO instead of taking on an entirely new project wouldn't be necessarily a mistake.

    Focusing on what? Quality?

If the work they've been doing is what they call "focusing", then yeah. Huge mistake. Should've gone with Game of Thrones. Then maybe Bethesda would start hauling ass on TESVI. We all know they're only dragging their feet because of this game.

I can indeed confirm that The Elder Scrolls is the more solid franchise. GoT will be forgotten and out of style soon enough, and with all respect to Martin, TES has more going for it in a video game format.

    Confirmation*

There was a GoT MMO in development a while ago but it died because it was really bad. If they offered it to ZOS since then I think it was a good thing they declined. Reason being is I highly doubt ZOS could handle 2 MMOs at once, and just because any Game of Thrones Online would be doomed to failure because it would be a theme park copy of either WoW or ESO. People don't want theme park duplicates of MMOs. That's why we are in such a slump when it comes to MMO gaming right now.

There are a lot of PvPers sticking around in ESO for now because there is no new alternatives coming out soon. I remember a while back when 5 or 6 MMOs would be coming out in a single year. How many of those became successful? I can't name any. MMO gaming is moving in a new direction where developers are using Kickstarter to fund MMOs for niches like RvR or special takes on PvE because making an all-encompassing game with PvP and PvE just isn't doing it for anyone anymore. Trouble is, these MMOs are still in development so while we wait for the MMO that fits each of our own tastes, we're stuck with whichever one we were playing last.

So... yeah. We don't need a Game of Thrones Online. It just won't work out like superfans are hoping.

They would have nailed the law and zones you have to admit... The game would have looked amazing. Yet i agree that they could not have handled two games. The pve aspect of eso is well done, yet they lack in the pvp aspect that game of thrones would require. imagine the ping for pvp .... *Shudders*

    pfff, ahaha

That IP? An MMO? This Developer? A match made in hell, two of those three at once is bad enough. Look at how ZOS handles the baby and grand moola generator of their(Bethesda, very close companies in leadership) own.

MMO on Game of Thrones? Please, no. Regarding ZOS and TES: Online, I like how they handle its development most of the time. Opinion of a person, who love TES universe and not a big fan of MMO games.

Actually no that's not true. Bethesda was asked to make a GoT game but they said no and then they made skyrim.

ZOS had nothing to do with this. Also. Would you prefer Skyrim or a GoT game. I would choose Skyrim everytime even with its shortcomings

GoT hands down... Don't get me wrong the skyrim law is nice. But first and foremost its a pve game. The pvp is an after taught. Well at least i hope it is or they have no bloody excuse for the state of it lol.

I think if ZOS tried to handle two massive MMOs at the same time, they'd both suffer for content. I'm glad they aren't doing it, as awesome as it would be to have a GOT version.
