Seeing as how arrows, knives and swords can eventually kill anything in Tamriel, AND metal shields and armor offer reasonable protection... against modern technology, nothing would stand a chance against Earth-Tech. You can't cloak-stab a nuke.

Earth vs Tamriel in a war. The only chance Tamriel would have is if they were able to leverage their Washire teleportation as a weapon somehow. Otherwise, Earth-tech would have them beat in both burst and sustain.

Honestly. Tamriel is fascinated by, and cannot duplicate steam-powered technology. Not sure how much of a chance they have if they fail at hot water.

Your gun becomes a solid block of steel because alteration magic exists. I then proceed to roast you alive in flame so cold it burns your skin to a crisp.

    :p

As you can see, I fear mages the most. That's scary stuff.

Ok disclaimer. Just playfully arguing here. My response is not intended to be sending a serious or offending retort.

I have not seen alteration magic in this game, except maybe with the god entities. I'm not a lore pro, so I'll give you that one... So I will grant that it is feasible that a single magic user could take out a single grunt with a gun. Keep in mind cast times though and the fact that AK-47s have a pretty decent AOE arc. Oh yeah, and range is pretty solid as well...seeing as how things like wood and metal yield to bullets. On a related note, I have a hard time seeing a bow or two-hand effectively blocking bullets going at supersonic speeds. IMO.

So lets take this to another level. Tamriel is dinky. Super dinky. Let's say you ride a horse at 30 mph in a circumference around all Tamriel. I bet, on a bad day, a really bad day, you could do that in 6 RL hours. I am rounding up ALOT there. So in 6 hours and 30 mph, you have covered a 180 miles circumference.

180mi circumference translates to 2600sqmi. Again, rounding up. That is smaller than freaking Delaware(including water surface area).

So Tamriel is no bigger that Delaware and that is with ALOT of rounding up. Delaware population is less than 1 million. The USA alone has 4,600 hydrogen bombs. Each with the potential to cause third degree burns to anyone within 5 miles of blast radius(at minimum).

5 miles blast radius is 70 square miles(rounded down). That means less than 40 of the 4600 H-bombs available would (at minimum) expose everyone in Tamriel to 3rd degree burns.

Now, Tamriel has superior medical technology. Someone near death can be back swinging within seconds. This is an interesting factor to think about. I suppose we have to assume this means growing back limbs, heads and spines. There is also resurrection in Tamriel.

This means Earth Army will have to hit very very hard, and very very fast to minimize a drawn out and costly war. Can't afford to have healers survive. Lots of underground options available for Tamriel residents as well. This could all present some interesting complexities.

OP asked what we thought about modern armies involved in such a thing. Those are my unqualified thoughts.

We need a spin off. Now hear me out on this.

Elder scrolls fallout war(pun on "all out war")

Setting you create s human or any es default races awaken on a half way planemelded earth battling mutants monsters and creature along with daedra and daedric princes. Your goal to fightbyour way through a nirnearth meld world breaking tethers melding the worlds mean while you using vats and kill cam fallout and skyrim style and have option to use melee magic guns etc and beable to get daedric power armor and magic swords and patch work wasteland and dwemer armors etc each having its own benefits. Utilize everything to end the meld. Fight goblins armed smgs and assault rifles and elves and dremora in power armor while watching your back for atronachs and deathclaws. Make magicka a little limited since were not drawing as much magicka from mundus in home world nirn.

    I rest my idea

A bullet travels at a velocity we can't even register with our minds. It leaves the barrel and hits you before you can even finish blinking. Sure if the Mage KNEW ahead of time someone with a gun was coming they could throw up a Ward.

Has no one said Duneripper yet? Have you guys even seen Tremors? You know of the Tremorscale animation yeah? Those things eat you whole from underground.

Probably any plague that exists in ESO storylines. All of these plagues, although extremely lethal and contagious, are all somehow contained easily in ESO (unrealistic). IRL, if any one of these plagues reaches an international airport, game over human race.

Any aedra or daedra because immortal and magic

Vampires because they would spread like wild fire + cults of humans wanting to be one

The spiders... Unless they are nothing like our spiders could not survive at that size, but if they could they would be pretty deadly as they breed quickly and would have no natural predators

Outside of stuff like that, seeing as magic in Nirn has a difficult time with castle walls Tank>Horse
