A recent topic looking at Steam data to analyse the player base of ESO got me wondering.
And if you could share your thoughts about whether you have seen more or less people as you have been playing in recent months.
For me it seems that I am seeing more. I don't do much on the PVP side, so that is primarily a PVE perspective.

Not really. Some like having all their game time tracked via steam and having all their games in the steam launcher, but it does nothing for the game itself (besides cause login problems for steam version users)

Enough people have claimed login problems that it's commonly known to be a risk. Just because you never had problems with it does not mean others cannot.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
3) Difficulty slider.
4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.1 -

Indeed. As the console users also know, adding an extra unnecessary link in the chain between you and the game can only ever lead to extra complications, never to any real benefits. I use Steam a lot, but only for those games that require it, never for those where it's optional.1 -

It's like any other webservice. Different experiences for different folks.
Steam will and has caused problems with ESO logins every time they've had a major issue with their auth servers, which has happened a couple times this year, and there's various other things that cause steam to not behave with ESO login servers from time to time.

✭PC (non steam)PC non-Steam...I HATE relying on other server's DRM to be able to play my game. ESO Server stability is bad enough. Add in Playstation network, Xbox Live, or Steam and now you need 2 servers up (with no issues) to play the game.

@Shardan4968 I believe the characters are bound to the server through the ESO account and unless there is something funky with the Steam part of it, you should have no problem with switching over as there is no actual Steam server. ✭✭✭✭✭PC (non steam)I bought ESO from steam but at the time it wasn't mandatory to run Steam to use it. Later they added the option to link your ESO to your Steam account. I buy all my crowns and subscription from ESO directly. And the one time Steam had a log in problem I was able to launch the game from the 64.exe, bypassing the check in with Steam and everything was okay. The only difference was that my screenshots/played time wasn't included in my Steam profile.
So I don't know. I chose pc non-Steam because it's optional, there isn't a mandatory security check *shrug*#FiteForYourRite Bosmer = Stealth

I believe the account won't change, It's the same as when I switched sims 3 over to origin, everything stayed there. You just have to use the CD.
