In order to breathe new life into TESO for me, I would really like to see a revamp to the crafting system and economy system. This is not another guild store discussion, but rather a discussion about how TESO Economy is very limited which is what is keeping it from growing so much more than it could. Take a look at some other MMO's like BDO, WOW, and others. MMO's thrive when they have a thriving economy system and deep crafting system.
These systems is what keeps many players engaged and logging on every day. When you limit crafting with so many drop sets that make crafting less optimal, and limit the economy by only allowing certain people to sell goods to others via shops/auction houses, your system becomes flawed and limits growth. So I purpose two ideas to make this game wake up a bit.
CRAFTING
Revamp crafting, introduce jewel crafting. The crafting system is already very deep but it needs a lot of help. Why can't I find a full set of hundings rage for example in guild stores? Because everyone can craft everything themselves. A huge flaw I have always found is this. Instead, crafting should be taken out of the skill tree and moved to another system like most other MMO's call professions. Each player can choose 2 or 3 professions per character which would make you have to use alts, or what do ya know, BUY ITEMS FROM OTHERS! For example, I can choose wood working, leather working, and enchanting. So if I need cloth armor, swords, or what ever else I can't craft from my three, I must pursue other people or alts. Crafting should take a long time and hard work to master as well like the research does. This is an MMO, not a single player rpg, so IMO changes to support group play should be made when it comes to crafting, and also what we are going to talk about next, the economy.
ECONOMY
The eco in this game is very much controlled by a few players in comparison to the total number of players. It is controlled by guilds that acquire guild stores and those players in those guilds. These said players are usually pressured to sell high and sell lots in order to maintain their guild memberships, which is required to access the only way to sell freaking items in this game. Is ZOS made of the Illuminati and want to simulate that in this game? LOL. I don't care if we keep the guild store setup the way it is but we need other ways to sell our goods. Its time to give guilds a little competition. Im truly tired of feeling pressured by others to sell things at prices I don't agree with, just so I can maintain my guild status just so I can have access to the only tool in the game to sell items to other conveniently. So what do I propose? I have no idea because if I say AH, because that is what we actually freaking need, people are going to rage and the point will be lost in a wall of hate posts focusing on one single point I made in this out of a million very important points. So yes, an auction house is really needed because the current state of the ECO in TESO (heh rhyme) blows. It's terrible guys. If we don't get an AH, then give us something else, or give everyone the ability to sell in guild stores even if you're not in their guild, and the guilds. This way the guilds still make their money and players make theirs without the pressure of the Illuminati.
