shield toggle

since we have a helm toggle that allows us to look like we aren't wearing a helm while still getting benefits of one. Was wondering if might be possible or what people thought of shield toggle that would make it look like we are just using a one handed weapon.

Absolutely not. If someone is blocking with a shield, I need to know.

If you see some numbn*ts trying to block your great sword with just a one handed weapon, they're either free AP or using a shield.

And it's important to know which before engaging them.

I think they should implement a bad random player toggle switch in dungeons.

well then easy just have a toggle for shields then problem solved. if they have only one weapon their are either using a shield or not. And if they aren't using a shield then it wont take much to beat them

PvE only healer here and I agree. I heal a lot of 'same day same way' gaggles that form to take down WB. If I see a shield, I figure the player will get in close so I can focus on heals/buffs. If I see only bows or staves, I know I may have to forego some healing of others to get in close with aedric spears to hold the boss myself.

Tanks are super special to this healer and I really want to be able to readily identify them. That shield is a pretty accurate indicator.

The difference is the lack of a helm is a cosmetic thing - everyone knows you are wearing a helm. Depending on situations you can even use disguise or costume to hide your specific appearance.

The difference between shield and sword/axe/mace in off-hand is not just cosmetic, it is tactical and it is not hidden by costume or guise.

Wish granted: They're still there, screwing up your run, and soaking up a party slot, but they're invisible, so you can't see how badly they're screwing you over. :p

lol well in PvE what you are speaking of when it really matters is a dungeon and a simple question clears everything up

yeah was why I changed it to just a shield toggle and not off hand toggle

That's not really much of an improvement. I hate to say it, but you still need to actually know someone has a shield equipped and isn't just an idiot going out there with a 1h weapon and no shield.

lol if you only do it for shield no you don't need to know because if they only have a sword then they either aren't using a shield and well be killed quickly in pvp and if its pve all you need do is ask them because only time it's going to matter is in dungeon 4man runs and 12man stuff.

so no you really don't have to know if someone has a board or not
