Both are available for all your characters.

Be wary though: Crown Merchants cannot repair your gear. Likewise, Crown Bankers cannot access your guild stores/guild banks.

It's mostly account wide, the banker can't access the guild store but being able to dump stuff for sale of deconstruction is invaluable

Aside from Morrowind, which is a very nice to the game, the best dlc to me are this last one, for 2 nices dungeons, Orsinium for its huge content, Thieves Guilds (if you want access to MOL trial 12).
From the crown store, those are the only things I bought.

Fatty White-Claw (lvl 50+) heal trial pve
Koros Bone-Shield (lvl 50+) tank trial pve
Koros Lust (lvl 50+) dps pve, pvp
    Seiri (lvl 50+) dps pve
    Wildfire (lvl 50+) dps pvp

NOT Gambling Crates, that's 100% 4 sure. only thing I would even considering is things that make playing etc easier. eg repair kits to heal everything, makes it fast when your in a vet dungon etc

Why would you consider a banker over a merchant?
  • Swifigames

The Banker and Merchant obviously make constant back-and-forth less of a task and more of a fluid process while doing decon and character trades. A bit pricey, but probably worth it for dedicated players.
Imperial Upgrade is a very solid choice as well.

Other than those and the DLC's that you can purchase with Crowns everything else is mostly cosmetic.
Though there are also Crown Experience Scrolls, Mount training packs that could come in handy depending on what you're looking for.
No matter what though, it's your money (or your friends', parents, etc.) but it's highly probably not ours. So find what you like the most, what you want the most, what will suit your play style the most and make good choices. Because no matter what happens here, at the end of the day we're not responsible for bad choices you made in CS :D

The merchant can't repair items, so the use of it is limited. You could always have an alt standing next to a merchant to sell stuff transferred by the banker.

The banker can't be used for guild bank or store

The Banker and Merchant are awesome but expensive.

Otherwise just focus on what you think makes your character look better for you, buy those things.

Why is that? What does the banker actually do? Does it just saves you from trying to find a bank and walking there? So it's a time saver thing? Didn't think the $40 or $50 was worth it. Really interested now after reading this.

    *edit*

    Same for merchant as well.

There is a sale on right now for crowns, so the merchant and the banker are effectively 40% cheaper. I wouldn't have bought the banker otherwise.

Yes the banker saves you time. If you are out questing or doing dungeons for example, you can move stuff you have picked up to your banker without having to leave the zone. Neither the baker or merchant work in cyradil though, although I don't do pvp myself.

I always want the mounts and cool pets but recently I bought the Guilds of Glory megapack (which was not cheap, 5,500 crowns) but totally worth.
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

well it all depends if you are sub or not.

some of the clothing line is nice if you are into role playing or want vanity item. Same with the pets just depends on play style.

if not a sub can purchase some DLC's

people say no on the crates, but I've gotten some nice stuff from them and I don't spend a ton on crates normally I purchase them when I have only like 400 to 800 crowns left. I have some nice xp scrolls from 50 percent on up, gotten some nice mounts, I've also gotten crap. But, the nice thing with crates and stuff you get duplicates of or potions and scrolls give you rubies which you can save up for stuff. I've also saved up enough rubies purchase stuff I've liked. Just remember the crates are a gamble and it is all random.

I say merchant and banker. The merchants lack of repair I have found isn't that big of a deal. Being able to offload junk in the middle of nowhere more than makes up no repair imo.
