The NA/EU PC servers that is. Is it possible and if so if the player population continues to decrease do you think it would ever happen.

    hell with only 9k people world wide playing on a daily basis, should be very easy to do, it's only going down further

    There's no reason to. Someone will be left with a higher base latency than they had before, for virtually no gain, depending on where they house the new, merged servers.

    The 9K is for player playing trough steam only or 1/3-1/4 or pc population. And its max number of players at once. Active players is far higher. 3-10 times a bit depending on how you count.
    It would work but it would give significantly more lag for EU players they still needed the same total number of instances and physical servers so it would be overall pointless.

    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    If someone believes the steam numbers represent the total number of players (pc), or even the majority of it, then that certain person is either stupid or talking nonsense out of boredom

    Once population of ESO is such low that merging servers would be required to stay profitable. That moment they will shut them down forever

    Thankfully that day is several years in the future.

    Last year (before any f2p weekend skewed the data) steam was around 10% of ESO population (or to be more precise, number of owners of ESO on steam was 10% of reported total sales by Zenimax at that time).

    Number of active players would have to drop drastically (around 75%) to even get to numbers year ago so...

    Why would they do that? That's how you would lose your entire EU or NA player base (depending on which region the new server is hosted in).

    Not a trash thread the servers used to be much more populated. I can't really tell if it's the 5 guild system and too many guilds but it just seems like it's so much harder to find quality players who want to run anything. I can post for bg's in 4 out of 5 guilds total population around 1400 but total population online is usually around 150 tops between these guilds. Then I go play bg's with my bro and we run into the same people the same groups over and over again. I just want to do stuff and with the lack of people it's hard to find a group for anything.

    No idea, more fun was the other the sky is falling tread, ESO was on 33 place over most Xbox games.

    Honestly I believe there would be more issues to merge the servers. We already have issues on the PS4 server so I couldn't imagine adding the other servers to the lineup. For what it's worth this is still one of the best MMO Atleast they listen to their fans.

    Maybe you should try linking them in the thread so that they actually see it. You directed this to the eso community and not to ZoS. They can't help you. All they can do is speculate about numbers which they have no idea on whether they are right or not.

    What? Why'd they do that? Have you not been here for the non stop outcry of eu people until they finally moved eu servers to actual Europe? There's no point in merging, might as well ask if they want to shut one of the servers down because that's pretty much what it'd mean anyway.

    It was an honest question that I'm sure has been brought up and it wasn't directed at Zos to be honest I dont think the servers need merging at this point i was asking someone with a brain if the logistics of this are even feasable or if it's a pipe dream. You see I have been playing since 2014 and do not want to see this game go for a long time so I was simply asking if it is possible? Do you have an answer for that or no if not then go away.

    I'm willing to bet that most of those who would support a merger of the NA and PC servers are in NA. I'd support calling their bluff and merging the NA servers into the EU servers in Europe :wink: !

    The sad thing is that given the US network issues those players would probably get better connections than they do now.

    No.

    The population would have to drop precipitously, far below anything that people have discussed here in the forum this week.

    Latency would be horrible for anyone in EU, if the server were in NA.

    They would probably just scale back the server hardware to match usage, up to the point where they close the game.

    Seriously... I guess it never occurred to me to lock my accounts to things I bought behind some other third party set of admins and monetizers who I would be subject to the whims and business sense of.

    Nor did it occur to me to lock my accounts behind some thing that would let everyone track when and what I was doing online. Sure my ISP can do that... but they don't care to or know about me individually... but I don't need all my "friends" looking up that I am playing X rather than the Y they are in... all day long (I had a friend a decade ago who was "required" to use xFire - a precursor to Steam - so that his WoW guild could see when he had his computer on, and monitor is he played another game without guild permission, or played WoW without using a guild-approved alt).


    Not everybody is on the stream-train...

    I joined this game a month ago, after hearing constant praise of if from all sorts of podcasts and reviews as well as commentary that it was having a great year in 2017, and on the rise. Lots of people noting it is the best MMO to be playing right now.

    And when I log in, I see crowds everywhere.

    This is not the MMO to be making 'sky is falling' fear-monger threads. This thing is launching rocket ships.

    Looks like that is far more common than I believed,
    makes some sense as ESO don't use steam drm, you need an account to log in anyway.

    Now add that steam has 1/3 of the total pc ESO sale, 1 million out of 10M/3.
    I assume this comes because ARK is merging servers.
    Well that is not an issue for ESO, instead of having lots of servers running the same content they have multiple instances of the same zone, this is most visible in the pvp servers but its the same for all overland content too but you rarely notice it.
    They have probably closed lots of the morrowind instances as lost of players has moved to other zones
    Yes megaserver has its problems but its so far better than the old multi server system its insane.

    Yea 33 is pretty bad considering there are basically no good Xbox games because they're all main stream game and like 5 are actually quality.
    I'm a PVE roleplayer concerned about my vampires stage 4 skin tone and keep getting load screens so I came here to distract people from major issues with a rant thread about my characters cosmetic appearance.
