Any calculations on how Max Magicka and Spell Damage affect damage of Magicka based abilities?

I still cannot decide whether I should go for Max Magicka or Spell Damage for my DW MagSorc.
My main abilities would be Frag, Curse and Fury

When people say Max Magicka is better, then the next question would be, what are the armor sets appropriate for Max Magicka DW MagSorc. I have no interest in running Necro as it's preferable to have a pet.
If not going for Max Magicka, but Spell damage, what would be the best sets you would suggest?

The reason max mag is better is because it is easier to stack magicka than it is to stack spell damage as i understand it. 10.24 magicka (aproximately) is equivilent to 1 spell damage. So Necros 4k(recently nerfed i believe to a lower value but will be using old value as example) is the same as a set giving around 390 spell damage. I think only clever alchemist can compete and not only does that have a large down time but the 2,3,4 piece bonuses make Necro even better.

For stacking spell damage though Julianos is solid. Clever Alchemist as i said above. Molag kena is an option but there may be better monster helms available for better damage output. I dont play mag sorc so these are just off the top of my head with no experience mind you

Since hotr I am running 5 necro /5 shackle breaker with pet up 47k magicka and 1880 spell damage and 41.9 critical. Mundus atronach. All non cp. It feels like god mode.
