Any word on Spellcrafting and Transmog?

I don't play much anymore. I am basically just kinda hanging around until either Spellcrafting or Transmog gets introduced. Has ZoS said anything about either of these features? Both are confirmed but don't have a release date, right?

    Besides the WOW transmog, why not just an appearance slot for each item? EQ2 implemented it into their game over 10 years ago and it seemed pretty seamless.

    Transmog has been confirmed, and about spellcrafting they've said that they haven't abandon it quite yet a month or so ago. No dates for either tho.

    I just don't get why they are so reluctant to add in stuff like Spellcrafting. With the way the skill system is setup, they have a perfect opportunity to expand the game by adding more skill lines to the game. My biggest gripe with this game is the same old skills being used over and over again.

    I really wish instead of wasting all their development time on Housing, crown store items, and a mediocre class, that they would have just made more skill trees and/or spell crafting.

    They are working on Transmog, they have already said that spellcrafting is pretty much scrapped.

    I would like more skill lines rath than spell crafting. It would be far to easy to abuse with only a few high power spells ever constructed by high power - high gold - players at the expence of the majority of players. Transmog definitely though!

    EXACTLY! Appearance Tab @Zos. They've already said "Transmog" is difficult...Then STOP! Add appearance tab! Problem with transmog is trying to sell gear that might have 1 of 50 different appearances. Some of the low level gear looks awesome and would be nice to use those models aside from an hour of outlevelling them. Scrap weapon dyes while you're at it if you do App Tab, won't need it!

    I don't really see how it's a meme. Anyone who has made it to endgame content will quickly realize (if they haven't already) that Mag Sorcs are laughably strong in PvE and PvP, and it has been like that for years now. Call it what you will. A meme? Alright.

    I know what I'll always call it.. really poor class balance.

    lol I can remember last year when stam was so *** op that people made fun of me for sticking with MagSorc but this is not the thread to QQ about magsorcs.
    Transmog confirmed, I expect it to be released in Q4 this year or Q1 next year.
    Wasn't there also a data mined thing about 1h+book or something like that earlier this year?

    Couldnt agree more meta or not its thensame friggan thing my wife has like 3 of each class then deletes half of them because it's the same build everytime same skills ive stopped making alts after a mag and stam of everything its like got em all covered no reason to make anything ever again since meta wont change necro on everythin vicious on everything no active skills added since wep ultimates

    Ugh I know it's so dumb. Mag isn't as bad (though 2/10 skills being wasted on Magelight is ridiculous). Stam is really bad though. Almost all stam builds are the exact same.

    I just dont understand why they seem to think transmog is difficult. Wouldnt it just literally be a system for referencing and replacing existing model assets?
    You need like 1 new database table to store the appearance reference for each equipped item, throw together a UI and maybe an NPC, and a few lines of code to manage the whole thing. Its not a particularly innovative system, its not inventing the wheel for the first time, I dont get where the challenge is.

    Some people have their database infrastructure set up really incompetently at the start of a project, but they already proved that they dont have this issue when they introduced Housing.

    Adding the UI is like modder tier, and 1 new npc ofc aint no problem.

    The number and complexity of functions needed to manage that would take 1 non-intern like what, one or two weeks? Add some time for QA ofc but seriously how has this game been out for more than 3 years and Transmog is still considered "difficult"?

    How has this game been out for more than 3 years and Transmog is apparently not even a priority? Any game designer understands the value of aesthetics, even ESO spends huge amounts of time and money on assets and effects, even though you may not see many of them more than a handful of times. Why, may I ask, would any game company spend so many resources on assets you will see infrequently, and then spend 0 resources on the character jumping up and down in the middle of your screen that you see for literally 100% of your game time?

    Well up until Morrowind, there have been pretty massive balancing issues. Back when they originally wanted to implement Spellcrafting it would have pretty much destroyed the game.

    In Morrowind we saw that balance was finally good enough to allow a new class to be released which fits in well with the others (despite its shortcomings in PvE).

    Expect Spellcrafting next year tbh. Retraiting is finally coming next patch and Transmog/Jewelry Crafting is also on the way. Spellcrafting is probably something they'd add to the base game with a new chapter release as a new "game system" just like Battlegrounds was for Morrowind.

    I'm really still desperately wanting spellcrafting. I liked the concept of exploration (needing to find the pieces of the spell), that came with the skill line and the options for customization. I know the dev who developed the spellcrafting concept is gone.. which is sad.. but man.. I still want what he dreamed of for the game.. :'(
