Help! What can I do against Talon spam-->flame lash spam?

I'm a mag nightblade and i'm trying not to change my entire build...but i'm humbled...im getting really *** tired of this ***.

Can a nice person help?

Dodge roll out of the talons. It's when you are immobilized or stunned that Flame Leash sets you off balance and then is followed by Power Lash (higher damage and self heal).

Talons are short ranged, expensive, and generally Dragonknights aren't that mobile. If you roll out and keep moving, it is hard for them to talons you again.

Also one of the recent updates makes you immune to immobilization after dodge rolling (for a short while).

Use shades too, they'll have a hell of a time. Some night blades use a 2h for forward momentum for snare immunity.

Dodgrroll or purge the Talons. But know that they are roots, and not a hard cc, so you can be talon'd again and again with no cooldown.

A mdk spamming talons is out of magic fast easy kill. A mdk spamming whip is out of magic fast.

A mNB that uses cripple and fear and runs the mdk out of stam wins.

So no magic no stam is easy kill, I don't see the issue

... I could have sworn the title was asking for help against Talonflame spam. Time for sleep.

I roll away and then return the favor with Frost Clench. Potions are also very useful if you can anticipate when you'll need to rush the enemy or escape.

Be evasive and stay at range. mDK is low mobility and few sacrifice hyper-crowded bar space for inner light. And if I'm being targeted by a magblade the choice between a detect pot and an immovable one is really tough. Most mDKs will have to turtle up and wait for your burst, then try to catch you partway through.

Pew pew to set up your merciless, stay cloaked and then when ready fear + you burst combo. If using destro/flame reach, be careful of wings.

you don't need to choose if you use "columbine, corn flower, wormwood" grants immobilize and detect

Most mDKs don't run wings these days, and have a very difficult time getting enough burst to get through damage shields. You can keep them rooted in cripple as well, then kite them because you are range until you have a merciless+ult for burst after a fear. Any magicka class vs mDK will be a long drawn out fight.

Oh, and if you're a melee mNB you can run 2H front bar for forward momentum.

True, but I still only have 8 quick slots.

As a MagBlade, you should:
- Put some distance between you and the DK, since the DK has to be in melee range for his assault. Use Crippling Grasp to both stun and slow him while making good use of your Shade to port yourself out of harm's way. You could optionally use a Frost Staff for the Clench skill, giving yourself a useful root too
- If the DK does catch you, with Fossilize for instance, Shield up and use Mass Hysteria if you can. So you turn away his offense and you can once again gain some distance

DK counters magblade, with block, a lot of AoEs and talons.

But magblade has some things that hurt. Fear, goes through block, moves DK away, best CC in the game. If talons'd and out of mag. Cloak or shadeport whilst in talons, for some reason cloak works whilst inside talons and forces the DK to need to aoe, wasting time/mag. DK has mad costs on skills, poisons hit them harder than most. Use them if you want.
