You love exploration, and a bit of roleplay. As do I.
    Those addons will kill immersion.

My advice is: Explore and quest an entire zone without those addons.
When you finish the whole zone, you can activate those addons, and find your missing books and skyshards that way.

    immersion is self made though.

The elder scrolls have had detect spells for a while, when you find skyshards and lore books there is a magical aura around them.

Imo a true rp'er doesn't limit themselves, or find creative reasons to use addon.

like i said the addon to see this stuff on the map can be explain saying it is just a detect spell.

i hate addons, but immersion isn't ruined by them. They can be used to enchance your immersion.

I've never had a real problem with immersion when it comes to books or shards.

I know the books are out there, laying around in fields, on dead bodies, etc. Places that real lore doesn't really make any sense existing in anyway, frankly I'd read them all in the Mages Guild instead of wandering around looking for them.

As far as shards go, I'd rather find them without any fuss. I can explore for tiddly winks and whatnots, but I don't want to grouse around with my skills undone, wasting XP that could be ranking something to IV on stuff that I don't have have point to morph yet.

But choice is a wonderful thing, if a person would feel like they didn't "earn" their progress, or if they get a thrill out of finding this stuff, I say more power to them, and by all means have fun and explore without them, nothing wrong with that at all.

Detracts if your a one-character player; vastly improves gameplay if you have more than one character since ZoS has confused mindless repetition with actual gameplay.
