Long lost lore quest

I was talking to Shalidor and had to leave the game before moving onto the next part of the quest. Now I log in and see the circle still lit but no shalidor or mage guildmaster. I hope I don't have to restart this quest all over I barely made it through the first time. How do I proceed?

UncannyLinderman✭✭✭Nothing loads him in? Leaving an area and coming back, relogging doesn't fix it? Might have to start it over outside of that. Unfortunately I can't think of any other ways beyond those to pop him back in.0 -

If you are at the end of the quest line, there should be a portal somewhere (after Gutsripper& taking one book), use it.
