They should make it so if two NPCs collide the both explode... It would make for some amusing people watching.

only if its the same npc though, because the same matter cannot occupy the same space.

how often do npcs collide though?

I understand that some people can get annoyed by the collision but it is also here to give the game more feel, I for one prefer collision.
No it is not perfect but it does work. I can only think of 2 instances where I got really annoyed by an NPC in the well over 400 hours game time.
Same works for PvE combat, I don't want to feel like I am attacking holograms, oh I can pass through them but can hurt and kill them. I like that a hostile NPC can block a door, running through an NPC to get away would be absolute crap.
That would remove immersion big time, I would actually stop playing, I don't want to play a hollow feeling game and by the looks of it the majority don't either.

People are like, oh this game has this, that game has that, oh why don't this game do this. This is TESO not those other games, get used to it. There is a reason why 99% of the games mentioned are F2P-P2W. Go ruin those games more.
ZoS made a decision based on the majority and made the right choice for the majority, they are not going to remove NPC collision.

Also, to add the same NPC collision as Skyrim for example, they would need to change some code, change skeletons of NPC's, add detection queues, it would cause performance issues for all that have low end or hamster PCs to start. What, just so very few that have anger management issues can be happy? It would be an expense we know ZoS may not want to make.

This day and age is full of people wanting change or nerfs because of a little annoyance that actually does not happen as often as they make it out to be, just lazy. " Derp, person in walk path, why he not move, me is god, me try go phwoo, why me stop? Why me no go phwoo? Derp" Answer to that is GO AROUND.

    My 2 cents worth.

Yeah, collision was added because there was an overwhelming demand for it early in the game. Being able to run through a monster during combat felt very unrealistic. Collision detection with other players was left out in order to prevent issues in congested areas like banks etc.

What's unrealistic is shooting fire from my hands and having it reflected back at me by a human that grows wings...

NPC collision is good. Especially when in combat.

The only issue is Zos placed NPCs in zones before collision and did not change things when collision was added. Sometimes the NPCs block a path. It's a small deal since it is limited.

Yes, they did do something. The no collision with NPC was terrible. ZoS listened to we, the players and added it. It is there for a reason. Being stuck in a doorway is so minimal compared to how bad it was in combat with no collision.
Also, restarting a 2+ year old thread from a banned user isn't the best way to prove your point.

NOOOOOOO. We had no collision in beta, it was horrible. You should be able to push them out of the way, but that's it.

Don't want to go back to the days when you would crit charge and end up inside or behind a mob (worse than it happens now) and then have to rework yourself to start doing damage. Or you step forward too much and same thing happens, even if not a charge. PvE Combat was horrible in beta before collision was added in.

Although I don't like all the games in the series much, I like the NPC collision mechanics in Assassin's Creed and it continued to improve over the series.

What really bothers me about NPC collision is that when you're fighting mobs they get to ignore it and move right inside you where you suddenly can't target them. So irritating when I'm fighting a mob, and it just casually walks right inside me and is occupying the exact same space as me... So suddenly I can't attack it :s

That's why we need collision, and we need collision done correctly for battle.

otoh, in non-combat situations - we need to be able to walk thru the bastage blocking a door and just standing there.

Yes, because it's still the same issue.
A new thread with 12 reply's is better when it doesn't indicate that it's still an ongoing issue?

I'm pretty sure that would be exploited by griefers and *** so much people would stop playing. Just imagine, a group of ten players decides it's great fun to surround someone so he cannot move.

I've never found it an issue, and can appreciate the feeling of disconnection that would arise without it.

EDIT: Didn't realise this was a necro'd post when I commented, or I wouldn't have bumped it.
