How to report bot farmers, selling in chat? @zos

I was in Deshaan last night and in area chat someone posted that they were selling dreugh wax. So i asked how much and many they had, expecting maybe 10-20. Anyway they replied 2500 at 6.5k each, I said you can get them in store for that price and they said that they control the stores/price of wax. Anyway as a hard working farmer/crafter i feel this is a bit out of order and really disrespectful to the whole community. I took screemshots of the conversation as proof and would like ZOS to have a look into the account of the person doing this.

So report them in game then.

(Not being flippant, that is the correct way to report someone).

Reporting them ingame is the right way to go.

Problem is, how can they trace it?
Could say a friend provided them, they most likely have multiple accounts and some stolen accounts of new players that have no idea how to get their account back for example.

Cheaters win in a lot of games these days, look as CSGO for example, how some streamers got away with running hacks I have no idea, some only caught because of a mistake of minimizing while stream is active, if they was not detected without visual on stream, how many others are not detected? Thus I refuse to play that game because of it.

Best bet as Epona222 said, report in game, once said person gets x amount of reports then they will be looked at.
I know no name and shame here but I believe for something like this, name and shame should be overruled so others can report, with evidence though. You could open a ticket with ZoS with the evidence but, again, it is hard to say, they just might be blessed by the RnG gods for all we know or could have scammed unaware players and bought at very low prices.

Many variables and 99% of the time they get away with it, I still think undercover GM's should be present in all zones like in the past, every game server needs real alive people as admins and not rely on this crap automatic system these days. Yeah yeah, time is money.... We all can wish :p

on ps4 you gotta go through the customer service menu.

Also, to OP in what was was this person cheating?

made what you think they cheat?

are you new to mmo? people who sell stuff like that don't always cheat. first off bank space is shared. 2, it isn't hard to farm (in general). People with time on their hands can spend 5+ hours farming popular/needed items to make money.
And claiming they control the price is just bravado.

shared bank space, the game is set up to raise/lower mobs based on your level since one tamirel.

It doesn't mean the person is a bot or rmt.

people like you come off as completely new to the mmo genre :/

stop crying wolf :) real bots don't engage with the community they sell their stuff through other means to appear normal. Its how they avoid being reported. to really claim bot, you need to watch the, 24/7 and see of it is a script running.

Don't always assume that because some people dedicate their time to farm to get money, don't make them bots.

(ima girl btw not a boy lol) Mention the rmt/account stuff not the "they farmed 3000 items" part. I knew ppl in ff11 who would farm crystals just to sell. we talking 10 hr farming session, and people would cry bot even though it was a ps2 player.

kinda gets old when ppl cry wolf like that.

I don't know about FF11, but I'll say this. I've farmed quite extensively over the last two years. I've ran across probably 50 or so Potent Nirncrux and 3 Atherial Dust.

I call BS is many cases where someone miraculously has 1,000 for sale.

No you are obviously new yourself and clearly don't care about the community! If you had any clue what so ever you would know the game well enough to know that you don't suddenly aquire 2500 wax and start selling in bulk!! Or are you able to farm that amount in a short amount of time!?!

How long exactly would you think that it would take to farm 2500 wax Lady? I have 850cp I have 6 master crafters and farm extensively, in fact I refined 4300 rubedo leather this morning and got the grand total of 23 wax, so how much farming and refining would I have to do to get 2500? I'm not a botter but I do promote there existence and here's why. Every time there is a new dlc that requires new gear and farming there are people who buy up all the gold mats and re sell with a 50% mark up which is b.s and we all know it. I get it people got to make there money but at the same time people gotta make them weapons and armor gold so I say yes to all botters driving down these prices and would like to say thank you:-)

Has it maybe occured to you in your zealously that this person who claims to "control the market" has actually bought that many dreugh wax to increase the price? Like shortly before a major patch that naturally increases demand for that kind of item? I've seen players with 100 million in the bank that could easily do that and it isn't unsual to see it in MMOs. Some see the game as a stock broker simulation and go through it buying and selling instead of grinding and farming.
In either case this forum won't be able to help you, except if your intention is to raise an angry mob. Why not just report it to the proper channels and let them deal with it? (Wait, I know the answer; you don't believe they will, because everyone is blind except for you)

Multiple asian gold farmers farm raw mats and sell the to this guy cheap because he always pays. He refines, gets the gold mats sells and repeats.

He probably does control the market. I see plenty of level 6s running through craglorn with names like 'Lgggjjii'...

Use to be a guy on PS4 that done the same thing. Had a whole organization going. Dude had hundreds of millions because he had dozens and dozens of asian gold farmers working for him.

While I don't want to defend botters and gold sellers, all too often people assume that something is not possible and use that as a club to beat on an issue. That runs the risk of catching innocent people in an imaginary trap. People need to be careful when the construct a logical test for cheating to ensure that only someone who is cheating can get caught... not just that most of the people caught are cheating.

Perfectly normal? No. Not because of the Level 3, but because of the 600 Potent Nirncrux. If a Level 50 character can be talking about that many Potent Nirncrux, then a Level 3 on the same account can do it, too. Character level is meaningless and should not be used to determine how long the player has been playing the account.

It is the 600 Potent Nircrux that raises eyebrows, and it does not matter whether it is a Level 3 or a Level 50 CP 2400 that is offering it. That is not to say that the Level 50 CP 2400 might not have that many, mind you. I question whether they could farm it and also get to CP 2400, since that is a long and boring road, but it can certainly happen that they have that many, and without cheating.

I am very sensitive to cheating, particularly the farmers who run bots. You can go look at my prior comments on the subject. Still, when I read the OP, I did not see any way to tell whether they were actually cheating, or not. Report them? Certainly. Declare that they are definitely cheating, or selling Gold, or anything else against the ToS? No.

Problem is, how can they trace it?
    By looking at the logs?

Quite easy. I used to do that quite a bit when I worked as a GM for another game. I was able to trace a "lost" item that a person reported and let them know I wasn't going to replace it.

Person A reports a super-rare epic item mysteriously "vanished" when he logged in.

    I check logs....
    Person A dropped item
Person B picked up item and sold to vendor
Person C purchased item and placed in crafting station
Person B removed item from crafting container and still had item in inventory.

Person A does not get item reimbursed.
