Launcher reports down for maintenance, but I still get a play button

and when I hit play, it says I have an outdated client.

I'm ok with waiting, but how about making it so I can leave the launcher running and get the update as soon as it's ready (like I have been doing for years now?)

My wife complains that I never listen to her. (Or something like that.)

Midnight - Find out when midnight is so that you can check for ww/vamp spawn.
Goto - Adds a tab to the map pane allowing you to teleport to a friend, guildmate, or groupmate for free.

    FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
    FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
    FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
    FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.

    They've been at it for a little over 7 hours. Note, there's no patch to download yet, which make me think there might not be a patch because normally the patch is available before maintenance is finished.

    Also, both Xbox and PS4 have already finished.

    Note: There's another post here where ZOS posted that patch notes will be posted shortly. So I'm wrong, there's a patch coming.

    That's what I'm doing.. but up till now, the play button has always been greyed out until the servers are out of maintenance. I think if there's a patch, I'll have to restart the launcher to get it.

    Bottom line, if the servers are down, I shouldn't have an active play button.

    So my son, who is sitting at the desk next to me, starts the launcher and the patch is downloading.

    I still get a popup that the servers are under maintenance and a play button. O.o

    Hm. Must have updated while I wasn't watching. After the server came back up I could log straight in.
