Do you ever log your characters out in odd places to surprise you when you next log in?

Do you log out your characters in weird places as sort of a prank on yourself when you're in some out of the way place?

Sometimes I'll put a character on a cliff in Eyevea, or in a box in Khenarthi's Roost, or way down by Bravil in Cyrodiil and every single time I'm surprised when I log back in.

My first character I stuck way out in the ocean in NE Vvardenfell because I saw a ship with a rat on it just about where the slaughterfish begin. With 14 characters - even though most hang out by The Bequeather in Craglorn for writ turn-ins, I still occasionally find a reason to be out in the middle of nowhere.

Even though ESO doesn't reward it I can't help exploring so sticking alts in weird places so they have a nice scene to view when next I log them back in is a nice surprise. I have lots of odd screenshots from this admittedly bizarre hobby.

No, but I know some people do. You can spot them complaining on the forum that they can't log in and blaming it on ZOS.

You're thinking of Cyrodiil, not out of the way places. If you can get into a place it's not a problem to load back in later. A long time ago they seem to have resolved the Z-axis problems on load-in we used to have.

Not intentionally, but I sometimes log onto an alt and have absolutely no memory of why it is where it is.

I usually just park them in their houses.

Sometimes when I log in standing in an Altmer town, I can't tell which one and get disoriented, though.

    A box! :D

I got lost the first time I logged in the Anvil Outlaw's Refuge, but... it was pretty dark down there.

Sometimes I am surprised by where I left my character.

Not because I planned it. I am truly puzzled as to why I was there.

That is truly a great way to log in.

I oftentimes visit houses of endgame pvers I barely know, and befriended years ago, and crouch where they won't notice me right away and watch them.

Even since posting this I realized I did this to myself, but this one alt I'd logged off in some Dark Brotherhood quest mini-locale as it has lots of nodes to harvest and not many people coming through there.

I don't really log out anywhere in particular, but I always try to log out of alts next to a stable so that when I log back in I remember to train.

When I was playing in Cyrodil, I'd always log out in a castle. It was always a guessing game if the castle would have stood the whole time or I would load back at the Gates.

If you log out in a PvE instance in Cyrodiil, like an Inn by Weyland Priory or a cathedral or whatnot you'll still be where you logged out later, as opposed to being kicked back to queue all over again or perhaps at your Alliance starting area.

I log in too much for it to be a surprise and if I do eventually drift away from ESO, I don't want to come back and have the panic of thinking I got hacked.

I sometimes have issues with short-term memory, so most times when I login it takes me a few moments to recognize why I was there, and what I was planning on doing at the time..if anything.

Yes, but to me it doesn't matter.

I log out wherever I am around 9 pm, which normally is the end of playing day for me.

So, on top of a mountain, inside a delf/dungeon, etc.

    Wherever.

Yeah, not intentionally, but it does happen. I'll log in on a level 12 in Craglorn and go, "wait, wtf!?"
