What would cause you to leave ESO v2 because the last one was a problem

So what would drive you to leave the game?

-Every patch turns the game into a farm fest. I just don't have the time or the desire to run the same dungeons 100+ times to get whatever the new BiS gear is.

Well good new this patch BiS is Julianos crafted, Mothers Sorrow which you can buy and Netch that you probably already had.

I'm 32, been farming over and over..RNG and the lack of item uniqueness (similar to D2 - item properties as well as random Magic Prefixes and Suffixes) got me too pissed about the time I'm wasting (which I don't really have that much) and while thinking ahead I was like -"OK, so ill get that gear...Ill get those achievements..My char would be better"...then what? will it really worth it ?
The game is nice and all and I really love the free roaming and many activities you can choose at a given time BUT - Been there, done that for many years while playing D2, hunting for top tier gear..selling and stuff..got tired of it.
I didn't quit ESO but I took a break for GTA V and I really enjoy it.

For me it was the repetitive nature of the game that put me of, grinding a new character, lorebooks, skyshards, undaunted, gear, writs, mount leveling.
I used to play just to hang out with the friends ds I'd made in game but people left for IRL reasons, tensions mounted about not being able to finish content because of numbers, arguments started, big egos, hurt feelings, personal insults... Then I went on vacation to Crete, sun, sea, sand, cocktails and beautiful scenery. I didn't even think about ESO. Came home, logged on once, everyone's arguing or split into little groups within the guild. That was it for me, collected my sales revenue, lodged 500k in the guild bank and wished them well but I was done. Been enjoying other games for now but might return if I get bored.

I don't play PvP so, i don't have all that balance/lags/blablablags... Best PvE MMO so far.

Same here. Plus although I have played on PC since launch I don't use addons and so I don't suffer any of the performance hits from them either. ESO has run flawlessly for me from the start and continues to do so now.

The game is both a worthy online TES title (I've played them all since Arena), and by a long way the best MMORPG around for PvE players these days in my view. Its only downside is the wretched trading system but I'd never leave a game over something like that, I just don't have anything to do with it.

    * The rediculous downtime. It was what... 2-3 days ago that we could not log in for an entire day? 'Oh yeah right, it was only 5 hours, way to exaggerate!'. Yup, but those 5 hours happened to be somewhere between 5 and 11pm. So for me? That's an entire day. And guess what, I want to log in today and I'm getting the message the servers will be brought down for maintenance. Again?! Just rediculous.

    * Immersion-breaking crown crates. There's people running by, leaving a trail of green leaves, people running by leaving a pink trail of... hearts or whatever? Mounts, skins, ... You spend so much time and effort on world design and you ruin it with these silly rewards that would be very fitting in any random Asian MMO. But here? Seriously?

    * The lack of a roleplaying server/layer. I don't want to RP 100% of the time, not even 10% of the time, but when I do, I feel people like me need to have some sort of safe haven to do so. This has been an issue for me since day 1, but it's no gamebreaker. When combined with the two above though?

Seems odd that someone who seems to not like the game anymore for any reason would still be playing it or even bothering with the forums.

I think most people here don't hate the game. I personally would love to enjoy the game like I used to. Seeing the game in a state that causes me (or others, evidently) to lose interest is frustrating. Doesn't seem odd to me at all that people would want to talk about those things.

Curious choice of Topic title OP

SO this thread Posted yesterday wasn't enough "What Would Make You Leave ESO?"?

The previous thread was closed but I think that there is plenty left to discuss. There are issues with the game that are driving some away from it. I'd like to think that having an outlet to shed light on those things could be beneficial to ZOS and other players in the long run.

I've actually been playing Marvel Heroes Omega on PC for the past few weeks, I pop over here every day just to keep up on what's happening. I've lost a bit of interest because of trying to find a single character that I enjoyed playing through ALL the storylines... and it's tough because of nerfs and changes that ruin specific character builds that you enjoy. Seems every major update I have to change characters because the one I've been playing received major nerfs, or the gear sets, etc... it's not really fun.

I think the previous 'Homestead' update that created the 'go heavy attack or go home' playstyle really ruined a lot of the fun of the game for me. With the resource nerf and heavy attack requirement... sorry ZOS, but just because you want resource management to be a vital requirement of the game, most players DO NOT.

There are many things that make me feel like quiting ESO. Server problems, lack of enjoyable long-term content, a broken and exploitable trading system.

What really annoys me though is when forums members express their dismay at the gaming, giving it some genuine criticism, and then because of a small number of players ruining it and ZOS (possibly) looking for an excuse to lock it, the thread gets closed. Closed because it was "problematic".

I get that it's their game and they have every right to do what they want with it. I don't have a problem with that. What I do have a problem with is forum threads where most participants were engaging in constructive discussion getting closed for what is arguably a poor excuse for a reason.

ZOS, if you see people leaving the game the answer isn't to block discussion and silence critics. It's to reach out to players and understanding why they've become dissatisfied with the game.

When you listen to players you can get a grasp on what needs improving, why it needs improving, and (if players have some thoughts to express) also possibly to work out how you're going to implement these improvements. That way you might start to convince some of these people to return, and if not, at least make it better for when new players arrive to the game.

Like I said, it's your game and you have the freedom to do whatever you like and I respect that, but closing threads dedicated to providing genuine criticism means that you're only creating an echo chamber around yourself. The last thing you want to do is to block out critics as it only means you'll end up failing to listen to new ideas and improve your game.

Just my two pennies on the subject.

I played the heck out of that game when it launched. But I'm a comic book dork, so that is my excuse. Lots of fun for a diablo typish super hero puncher. It was a train wreck at launch though. Glad to see they have recovered and out there keeping us super hero dorks happy.

I wish there was more character development, I dislike having multiple characters and having them finish the most of what they offer for combat unlocked by level 50 (usually) and have the rest being; sets, CP, and whatever skill points more I care to get, doesn't add much to the actual gameplay, rather, simply stats.

If we are to continue with a TES game with classes, then I think something that should be considered is to expand on what we have, why not add CP level as a requirement to get secondary morphs and new skills?

Personally I think CP is a lazy form of providing that sort of "continuation".

I personally and a lot of other players are losing interest in the game. If it's not the game it's the grind fest for gear, if it's not the it's the mechanics that are still broken from launch or broken after each patch.

    My reasons:

-Farm 100+ hours for a certain gear, yeah if I no life eso, but I work for a living, so I don't have time or the so called eso RNG I mean D&D old school RNG system...

-Abilities not going off or taking up to 3-5 seconds to activate.
-the so called fix's to reduce the lag (lol)
-the non stop nerfs that affect pve and pvp [ they need to figure out a way to balance both sides instead of demolishing them ]
-the memory leak and FPS drops that have been around since the lightning patch, could be longer than that, hard to remember.
    -dead campaigns but remain open....
-the endless zergs in pvp. Yes I know it's a massive zone and all but let's see, battle at chal/bleaks [check] bridge fight [check] sej, nickel, or mile gate [check]
-find a way to spread people out in pvp, not get a faction rolling from one check point to another. [Creates major server issues and client issues ]

    - I could go on and on but what would be the point. The biggest thing is that they rarely listens and if they do they listen to people that don't benefit the community, only themselves and well they change things last second and make us say wtf were they thinking.....
