Though I like some of the changes in the patch itself.
Yes it would been an good idea, also easier than creating totally new ones. However i think its hard to monetize it, back then they had sub they wanted cheap content to keep players playing, now they want stuff people will pay for.
I'm going to do them for the challenge achievements and the rewards, but then probably not so much after that. They seem less inspired than the Shadows of the Hist dungeons and are also both quite short in my opinion. I find myself looking forward to the PvE dlcs moreso than the dungeons, despite the fact that the story dlcs have no replayability, but at least seem like they are worth more just for the extra zones they add.
I really wish they would actually continue with their plan of adding a second story to all of the base game dungeons, but they seem to have given up on that since the last one we saw that on was City of Ash, back in 2014. I honestly think a lot of the base game dungeons with a harder secondary story would be way more interesting than the new random dungeons they are adding with the dungeon DLCs, although I did think Cradle of Shadows was really nice, but that's like 1 out of the 6 dungeons they've added over the past 2 years, with the rest being either poorly designed or just not worth playing through once you have the associated achievements / items. Lastly, I wish the new sets they are adding with each of them wouldn't be so worthless.
I agree, it will not come as they can not monetize on it, back then it was sub and they had two stories it was an fast an easy way to make more content. It makes it far easier to farm gear too, you can do CoA1 vet and COA2 normal.Yes it would been an good idea, also easier than creating totally new ones. This is a fairly late reply I realise, but yes, you pointed out the main problem with it. Because if they try to monetise the second stories for base game dungeons, you can bet your a** they will spawn outrage, since people will expect them to be free. I think the best way they could do it, to avoid things like that. Is to release them incrementally alongside paid DLCs, so like maybe one secondary story for a base game dungeon included for free, and then a story dlc, or something like that. To be honest, I wouldn't really mind paying for it, if they were to put as much time into them as was done with City of Ash 2.
