Should I Gold This Gear/Build?

So I often get rolled in battlegrounds and open world pvp and im not sure if its because my gear isn’t gold or I just still suck at pvp. Everything I read online tells me the build below should be decent to good but I often times cant burst down opponents when I catch them off guard. I am roughly 280 cp so that could also be an issue but as I said I cant seem to kill people in battleground without cp.

Should I gold this gear to give myself a more competitive advantage or just wait until I get better?

My build

Vampire – Khajit - NB
5 hundings
5 spriggans
2 selenes

Gear is impenetrable purps except the monster set which I wont gold until I get the right traits. Using max health glyphs on my chest and legs which are heavy armor. Max stam on the rest and weapon damage on my sword and dagger duel wield. Back bar I use a defending 2h the weapons are crafted hundings.

Before a fight I will use rally and buff up. I open with ambush surprise attack incap weave in light attacks or heavy when needed and use mass hysteria to try and cc down sorcs but I never seem to break down their shields. I also cant kill tanky characters and have died to them even in 4 and 5 on 1 situations since my stam regen sucks.

So is it me just being low level cp and not having gold gear that makes me feel underpowered? I know I still have a lot to learn to get better but will I notice much of a difference if I gold this set up?

P.S I still don’t incorporate potions into my build but just got another char to 50 alchemy so I will be introducing that as well. Do weapon damage potions help significantly with burst?

Only gold the weapons unless you're pretty rich - and even then probably only your frontbar.

You get a LOT more out of a golded weapon than a single gold armour piece.

Whatever you think is meta now won't be next patch to don't spend mats you can't afford :-)

Golding your gear won't change this. There is hardly and difference from purple to gold gear except for weapons.

Gold weapons for the damage, always (if you feel the build works and is fun for you)

For armor, only gold up if you want the traits updated or they have a special stat bonus you need increased (otherwise the difference between purple and gold stats is not much). For example, I'd gold up your monster sets before your 5pc, because you'll get better stats and will always use those sets even if the meta changes, plus you only need to gold up 2 items so it's cheaper.

I wouldn't gold the Selenes unless you've got gold mats to spare as unless you can cc straight off the bat and they don't break it its very easy to see and react to by dodging or blocking now.

I actually am using the same exact gear on my nighrblade except in medium not heavy.

I die a lot, but I get a lot of kills too. Just keep playing you'll get it.
I don't normally use daggers, but when I do, I choose dos Lekis.

    All damage no sustain.

You'll get wrecked by any nb with less damage but more sustain.

Hundings and Spriggans are 2 very solid basic sets that if you have the resources to gold em out do it. First priority is to gold the weapons then the big pieces (Head, Chest and Legs) and last small pieces.

But most importantly learn your class and practice, practice, practice. That will take you much further than Legendary gear.

I usually play a new build for a week or two and try it out before i start to gold pieces.

    Have fun

Only if you put damage glyphs on the jewlery. With recovery glyphs and good racial passives your looking at around 2400 weapon damage and 2000 recovery.

Not only fighting other nighrblade. Gotta get enough burst on a sorc before they turtle up and start stacking shields.

OP a good tip for getting killing the sorcs is to wait until they have no shield then fear them and try to kill them before they break CC.
