So, why can't I find an explanation for downtime/rollback?

Unless I've missed it somewheee we still have no explanation as to what kind of bug/exploit could have been so awful that we have had so much downtime and even needed a rollback. A lot of people lost a lot of progress im the rollback, and we for some reason have no explanation for it? I think we at least deserve that much.
