It is so vital in certain and most situations to be able to see where(specially for tank) your teamates are putting down skills.
It's an effort to reduce lag. So live with it.

Most of the particles were unecessary anyway, and it's not as if them all rendering would make some people better players. It could be an optional setting, though.
It's an effort to reduce lag.
Lag and framerate are two different things. Lag is like ping, your connection back and forth between the server, delay between you sending or receiving data from other players with the server inbetween. Framerate is your PC/client having trouble rendering 3d graphics.It's for reducing lag
