For anyone who doesn't know what this threads about. You can't see certain abilities or aoes people throw down anymore. It hurts the game a lot imo.

No reason not to make them optional.

And they should be turned on by default.

It was ham fisted to just completely turn them off for everyone. It's like being punished because someone else has an old computer. I spent 2k on my rig, not including peripherals. Meanwhile, the game drags down to and hangs on 25 fps regardless because of it's single core optimization in engine. Bleh.

I realize not everyone has a Pythosphon TX 183 Gigabore Maggrocharged graphics card with Distribuluxe threading capability and a 5000 Hampstogen cooling system (non-stock), but I do and I find that my quality of play is way better when I can see friendly effects like caltrops. I need to know where to get the enemy to do their fighting or what debuffs to drag people chasing me through. PvP-specific applications, of course, but I'm sure it's about the same for PvE folks.

Options are always a good thing. Not sure why this wasn't made optional in the first place.

Speaking as a casual-tank (vet-dungeons but nothing more fancy) - it first was a relieve to no longer have all the effects at once in the middle of my screen (not lag-wise. Even my fairly old rig can handle all effects, ESO throws at it, quite fine. But concentration-wise). But now our dungeoneering adventures have gotten incredibly bland! Its like a team of geologists on a spelunking-field-trip. Not a band of dashing heroes out for trouble (make it double ... err .. quadruple!).

No, they can still see those just fine. It's damage AoE that's being effected, like Wall of Elements, Caltrops and such.

I warned about this issue on the PTS forums, and I got told that "it was necessary" and that it'll "make combat look and feel awesome."

I said we'd have those exact issues, and they ignored me.

Please add this back as an option. I want to see my group's effects.

I hope someone will make an addon where you can decide which abilities you want to see, and which not... if it's possible, of course.

I dont think that removal of sight of your allies abilities was a good choice.
I understand that zos is trying to lessen the lag. But maybe this isnt the right answer.

From my experience in pve: tanks are constantly moving out of the dps' ground aoe bc they cant see it. One tank even asked if someone in the group just eots bc he heard it but saw nothing.

From my pvp experience: since i dont see what my allies are doing now in fights, positioning is now more tedius. (General statement, Too many instances to bring up)

All in all, my experience is now lessened in many different facets due to this change. I for one would like this reverted back, and have zos come at fixing lag from a different angle

I can't vote yet, I'm unable to. I have to see for myself before I could vote, as I and others on console. Like myself, are still waiting to try it.

Definitetly optional.
Always having an eye on how well my tank does with pulling adds together/ holding them in the aoes, as hes still learning and when he cant even see the DD's aoes thats not very advantageous.
