Can not get to character selection screen

I have tried every trick that has been posted in the 'Read before posting' Section. I updated the client, logged in but its been more-less 30 min so far and I can ot get to the character selection screen. Eternal load screen. What do I do?

Bullgar✭✭I'm having this same exact issue. After logging in with password, I have been locked in the load screen before the character select screen for 40 minutes now. Please let us know if there's a fix to this issue.***************************

My wife had issues with the patch and now she puts in her password and can't get any further. She has deleted all addons and still nothing. I see MANY people are having the same issue.
