vma last boss bit harder after last update

changed to infused instead of sharpen , no change for me(no data just my how i feel)
changed necro to s_mage and Nirnhound random staff , worked ok
the pen droped that for sure

drop was inferno staff Nirnhoned , hope it's good

I think sharpened is still recommended for vMA, even with decreased effectiveness, since you don't have major breach from elemental drain.

elemental drain was he first skill to cast after aoe like allways , never got the boss after 2 rounds of gold ghost. for me.
Takes way to long now

Using Sharpen weapon is a waste!

instead should go for spinner/sprigan in VMA

I haven't been into vMA since the update, but I just finished tweaking my build by getting rid of sharpened and taking the lover mundas instead.

I always aim to be near the penetration cap anyway, and an average of 4k penetration from light armour passive, CP and now from the lover mundas I will get myself near penetration cap by using elemental drain (17,592 to be precise). I am worried about only having 45% crit because crit surge is my only heal (should be ok as long as dots are ticking), and I don't know how lower crit will affect my DPS, but now that I'm running charged on both bars with shock enchants I am hoping to have minor vulnerability (and the exploiter passive) up enough to see a significant dps increase.

That's exactly the problem with Spinner's. It has no spell critical bonuses so you end up with too little to make surge heals reliable. And with sharp weapon and a few points in spell erosion you are doing the same penetration as the full 5p set bonus. I'll hold on to sharpened for now.
