Faster and more fluid skill-casting in HotR?

So in my couple of hours of testing the new update, I've found a rather interesting phenomenon: I seem to be able to cast my skills quicker, thus decreasing my rotation time and increasing my DPS (stam DK). I've tried to check my buff timers and ability timers to verify this, but I've been unable to actually find solid evidence of this other than gut feeling and muscle memory.

I've asked around, and other people seem to agree that skill chaining feels quicker.

I'd just like to know if you guys are also having the same experience.

Perhaps the new lack of visualizations are having an overall performance impact?

I have serious concerns with this change.

First, I think it was a poor choice for ZoS to assume that people's systems couldn't handle the visuals. If you're going to add the ability to disable visualizations, perhaps a slider or toggle option would've been better. I didn't pay to build a nice rig for ZoS to arbitrarily decide that I should or shouldn't be able to see other people's skill effects.

In terms of gameplay, I'll be interested to see how this affects tanks pulling mobs out of AoE (which happens far too regularly already [note: PUG and/or inexperienced tanks, not typical with pre-mades]) if they can't even see the effect on the ground.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes...

I agree, when initially announced I was concerned and really hoped there would be a toggle option. Specifically because of what you mentioned regarding tanking. I'm a bit disappointed it didn't happen but had a feeling it wouldn't.

Absolutely. It shouldn't affect server load whatsoever since the calculations still have to be done so the only thing that might or might not benefit from it is personal FPS. And like you rightfully wrote, one doesn't spend money just to get visual effects taken away. I find this a blatant misconception on their behalf. If I wasn't sitting next to my partner while teaming up, I'd have little idea what she is doing when we duo content. A slider or at least a toggle should be implemented at minimum. I have zero understanding for this BS that is forced upon me.

Not in my case. My own skills are still visible to me, and I observed this while parsing on my own target skeleton.
