...I got that you are a voice for the "nay" side. I obviously am one for the "yay!" side. Let's just disagree on that one, but keep the discussion on topic regardless instead of sidetracking it. If you want to make an "Should there be more skins/polymorphs" thread on the other hand - feel free!I am well aware, but the question was "should there be a new playable race" to which my answer wasI wouldn't want any other races to be added into the game as playable races.
Giants are not playable and should not be playable for a very simple reason - they are "too big"... Same for ogres really... it would not be much fun for them to either clip through all low ceilings, or be denied entry in every place that has a low ceiling, yes?One race that is common in ESO, not playable.
One race that is common in MMORPG's, yet never playable.
Giants.
Yes they should be playable in ESO.

Would that be an race of their own? Not really...Half -giants? Titan-born?
No, but if you necro a -really- old and obsolete thread, some people may post amusing pictures to make fun of you in before lock...Countcalorie wrote: »is there a necromancy badge on these forums?
Not likely to happen - a new faction would require a whole new "pre-coldharbour mainstory", and I doubt they would risk spending that much effort (and money) on something like that.rimmidimdim wrote: »If they expand into akavir, that could be a new faction and four new races there? I can't remember the lore exactly or the race names. But that would be amazing.

Yeah, the transformation of snow elves fleeing the invading atmorans into blind falmer at the hands (or mushrooms) of the dwemer happened beforer the battle of red mountain, so... ages past from the ESO times. And while we know from TES:Skyrim there are some snow elves still hiding in a far off corner of skyrim, at the time of ESO, they are a mere rumour... and certainly not viable as player characters.Giles.floydub17_ESO wrote: »Saucy_Jack wrote: »Snow elves. @Saucy_Jack
You mean Falmer? Snow elves no longer exist. Essentially devolved into the Falmer. Few escaped enslavement and death and the few that remain live in seclusion. This all seems to have happened before ESO. In other words, does not seem to be a good fit lore wise.

I'm not sure whats happened to the Sload, but they cannot seemingly be found in Tamriel right now. Plus I suspect they would be impractical to attempt to do graphics wise.
The Imga have disappeared, although they lived alongside the Altmer in Summerset - the last messages from them suggest they went to Falinesti to wait out the Three Banners War.
This only leaves the Akaviri races - the Ka'Po'Tun, The Tsaesci, and the Tang Mo. I suspect the Tang Mo would be a cool race to have, the monkey people. But, we would need a whole new chapter involving a reason for them travelling to Tamriel in the mid second Era, then disappearing before Tiber Septim gets the throne in 2E 830.
