Error Code 200, cannot login

FancyKale
FancyKale
For the past 2 days I have been unable to login, it simply says error code 200. The "help" button gives advice on every code except 200, so I have no idea what this means. I have never had an issue logging in before, my computer has great specs and my internet speed is usually in the 70-80 mbps range. Is this a server problem?

Try a VPN service. It could be a routing issue. It's somewhere to start fault finding.

I used one with success when I had log-in issues when I first started playing the game. (I eventually changed ISPs and the problem was resolved without using the VPN.)

I have been unable to login since last Friday, but last night I was able to get in... Here is the routine that seems to let me in, at least on my PC:

    1. Start ESO.
    2. Click "Play" on launcher. Wait for login screen to appear.
    3. Enter password. Get error 200, etc. Click "Quit" on ESO GUI. Takes about 10 - 15 seconds to clear GUI.
    4. Repeat step #2.
    5. Enter password again. Get error 200 or 108. Click "Quit" on ESO GUI. Wait again...
    6. Click on X on upper right corner to close the ESO Launcher.
    7. Start ESO again. Repeat step #2.
    8. Enter password. I am in...

Repeated this same sequence this morning and was able to enter ESO, but not confident this will work all the time. Frankly, this makes no sense at all.

While I was in game last night, ping was in the 100ms range, and getting 55 - 60 fps. No issues while in game, lag etc.

Thanks Bill, will check the anti-virus & firewall tonight... I consider what happened last night a weak work-around...

I was happy to play ESO for a while last night... :)

I am having the same issue and it is NOT a firewall issue. I KNOW this for 100% certainity, because my wife can get in just fine. Only I can't. I've rebooted... turned EVERYTHING off... repaired... still having issue. The ONLY way I can get in is by using my VPN.

There has been some speculation from a few that after Morrowind ZoS seriously messed something up and is just trying to cover up their tracks by blaming these errors on the playerbase. Can't be a coincidence that suddenly a whole group of players are having "porting issues".

I just reinstalled and am having the same issue. I have the ports forwarded. If I keep banging away at logging in, I get in about 1 time out of twenty bouncing between errors 108, 200 and one that says my login or password may be wrong, or I need to log in via Steam.

After two weeks of error 1005, i'm tired of not being able to log in. Please fix your game ZOS

I have tried all of the above and more than once.

This has been going on for me since the Midyear Mayheim, for which i wasnt even able to finish.

IF im am lucky to get logged in i have to repair launcher each time, but only after i get the first error: 200 message.

After that it may or may not let me log back in. However if i get kicked off for any reason, I may or may not be able to log back in that day.

Also doesnt matter what PC (have 5) in my home i try to log in with. Also doesnt matter if its my laptop or my desktop at work--- My account seems to have the issues.

Because it happens on various pc at various locations, I know it can't be my or my works pc settings, even though i have check all of them

I have to confirm this only started recently . I have been playing ESO for longer than a year never had this issue. This issue started within a month.

I don't buy that it's a router/modem problem either at our end. We are using a Cell mobile hotspot right now and I can get in just fine. However, my wife using the same hotspot keeps getting the Error 200 messages. About the only thing that has worked for her is to temporarily move the UserSettings.txt file to the desktop, boot up the client, and it will automatically create a new file on it's own. Usually after doing that she can log in just fine. It seems to be that something is causing the UserSettings file to become corrupted.

It is connection or auth server issue.

I am able to login about 1 in 20 times. If I just keep attempting to login, with an occational close ESO and Restart,, at some point it lets me in.

If it was a Router/port/anti-virus issue, I would never be able to login.

Yup, was getting alternating 200 and 108 error codes. Just kept trying and eventually got in after more than a dozen attempts.

But sure, ZOS, it's a firewall or router problem on MY end. Right.

1 out of 10 login attempts works for me. Yesterday was error 200/108 but today is 200/timeout. Can we call that progress?

It's not us, it's the Servers.
Login issues. Loading issues. Random high ping issues.

Steps above have been implemented since 2015.

    Now what?

I posted in other topic also, but login servers are unpingable from a certain ISP here, Sofia, Bulgaria. Others do work, like my mobile internet. It started from today, login server is here for like 10-20 seconds, then its gone. I'll contact my ISP in Monday, but yet, I dont believe its their mistake, since everything else works fine, but ESO.
In fact, its a bit more complicated. I had an issue with a 400 ms peaks since Homestead. They disappeared a while ago, when many ppl started to complain having connection issues. But mine were fixed. Now those peaks are back again, while other ppl seem have their problem resolved. Im almost certain, there is a routing problem somewhere and unfortunately, neither me, nor my ISP can fix it, bcs its beyond our reach.

So there are other two guys in Sofia, PC EU, who cannot login either, both different ISPs than mine.

    (EU) server.
Disconnected after every change of zone or relog to another char. After the disconnect, you cannot log in for 20minutes, or so...
It usually writes: an error has occured. Please, wait a couple of minutes and try login later.
Other variations say: error 200 or /timed out. And it started only this Friday/Saturday night.

Tried all the recommended stuff, followed all steps about firewall, antivirus, router, but to no avail. The only possible way to log in after a disconnect is to "quit" the game, launch anew and then try to log (sometimes lets go to the chars, sometimes not even that), then again quit, launch... and once in 20 attempts to log in, you finally will, by chance.

    Bravo.

Been trying to log in to my acct (NA) for the past 4 days .. no go. (Returning player, been w/ the game since Apr. 2014).

    Keep getting Error 200!!

Did a tracert to the NA server, doesn't even complete. (Am I a victim of anti-DDoS measures???)

Interestingly, I do have a ping to the EU server and am able to at least get EU auth server to respond.

ZOS, please help me rectify this situation (not willing to go thru extra hoops like VPN etc. -- already pay enough to Verizon)
