How do players use training gear on ults to level up? Isn't the gear level capped?

If a player crafts training gear for experience boost, isn't it high level?

I am level 20, but want to change my character. I would like to get to level 20 fast. So it feels like i didn't loose all my progress.

obviously I'm a new player. My real issue is that I have been splitting my time between xbox and pc. I should choose one, but I have friends on both, and for some reason I like the xbox version for its ease of chill factor.

I want to change my character so I'm not playing the same guy on both systems. right now I have a or dragonknight on both.

Once you make the training sets you can keep them forever and use them again on future alts, Just store them on an alt. I have sets of both magica and stamina level 4, 20, 30 and 40 training gear and a variety of weapons. I crafted them in the basic useful sets like Seducer/Julianos and Hundings/NightMother.

Fastest levelling activity is grinding in general but questing has been made a lot less bad recently.

I normally quest to level 10. Do the PvP tutorial for the 2 bonus skill points and the fast riding skill. Also do my first daily random dungeon. Then I do Dolmens/grinding until level 20 as my gear is getting a bit bad. At level 20 when my gear is better I do a little main story and delves for some skill points then it is back to random dungeons/dolmens/grinding.

You will need new armor every 10 levels. I'd recommend following when the mats change. 6, 16, 26, 36, 46, etc...

You will need new sets for those levels. It's pretty easy to get level 6 without training armor, so your first set should be at least level 6.

The maximum gear level is 160cp. You can still craft gear below that level as long as you have the relevant materials to that level. So if you want to level to 20 really quick you can get someone to make you lvl 1 full training gear and equipping that will increase your exp gain. The training trait is percentile so the amount of increased exp you get wont degrade as you out level your gear but the other stats will, which is where I assume your confusion comes from. Gear crafted for your exact level has the same stat bonuses as lvl 160cp gear but as you grow in level above your gear those stats degrade, at 5 (I believe. may be 10) lvls above your gear gives its minimum stat bonuses. This is why it is recommended to swap out training gear every 10 levels or so

To level as quickly as possible I suggest getting some blue training gear and psijic ambrosia, and do some hard grinding at dolmen grind like Alikr desert or Auridon. You will likely reach twenty in a few hours.

Recommend Auridon dolmens, you don't get much xp in zergs 2-4 players on dolmen is perfect, i tend to use the upper two.
Also do public dungeons and delves you will need the skyshards anyway.
At higher level run random normal dungeons,
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I have a magicka and a Stamina training gear set for every 10 levels stored away for use on Alts. I've got 10 to level 50 now.

Why does someone need gear every 10 levels? I craft lvl 4 gear and keep with that until I go into PvP. Heck, one of my wardens I did not craft gear until I went into PvP. Wore mismatched drops without set bonus. Personally, I would rather spend the time getting XP than crafting gear.

To OP, craft the gear when you want to, though for using less matts crafting at the start of a matt level uses less which may be what plague was trying to say. The %XP increase stays constant.

In PVP I would upgrade even more frequently, at least every 5 or 6 levels or so.

Keep in mind, the world is not scaled down to you. Instead, all the NPCs and monsters are CP160, and you get scaled up to that level. The way scaling system works now, it takes into account your gear level and quality. So if you are wearing gold gear that is exactly your level, your stats will be very high. If you are wearing white gear that is 10 or 20 levels below you, your stats will be very low.

This is better than the old system, where I would play in PVP and my stats were almost the same whether I was naked or had any armor on, regardless of the gear level. Now there is incentive even for low level players to gear up.
