Think OP wondered if it was an skill like ledgerman, who more you steal and raises it who better items will you find.As others have said, while you are fishing you gain no XP towards levels or champion points. And be prepared to sink several hours fishing, if you are aiming to become a Master Angler. You can kill enemies between one fishing spot and another, but that's not very significant as far as XP gains go.

Just to be clear, you know you don't get Perfect Roe from fishing right? You get it as random bonus to filleting raw white fish. BTW: yet another tedious boring task after the first one to catch them!
