Reachmen?
I clean forgot about them. A bit of research suggests that racially, they are Half-elves effectively, a cross breed of man and mer with a small amount of Daedric influence thrown in. Also, they are very do-able in Lore, as Varen actually removed a Reachman emperor from the Imperial throne. And, they can be found in a number of places in Northern High Rock.
I actually think it could create an interesting kind of character.

Not really, 10 races is plenty. More char slots, skill lines or may be class will far better to add IMHO. Single player TES games always had just 10 races and I am used to them lore wise. Plus, how the dev handle NPC dialog in the main zones and how the NPC react to the player? That is A LOT of work or re work to add the race into the game the right way.

Actually, Morrowind was the first single player TES game to introduce the Imperial race, and the Orsimer race, as TES 1 Arena had orcs as beast, and imperials as just divided tribes, and TES 2 Daggerfall, turned Orcs into beastmen, but not yet a race.
Anyhoo, Maormer would be at the top of the list for new races (and the top of my personal list), and then next would be either Reachmen, (and don't hate me for this) a Dremora (just like Lyranth the Foolkiller), or last but not least the Tsaesci, since their crafting Motif has already been on the PTS. All in all tho, they'd either have their own faction, or have to choose from one of the three (which would be really dumb for any of these races.
TL;DR : Maormer, and then Reachmen, Dremora, or Tsaesci

Also, if we're talking about ancient history, three or four different Khajiit breeds have been playable. There's only ever one option per game, but the breed you played changed. Arena had an Ohmes, Daggerfall had an Ohmes-Raht, Morrowind had a Suthay-Raht. IIRC, the player characters from Oblivion on have been Cathay, but I'm not 100% certain.

Yeah Oblivion was Cathay, and Skyrim was Cathay-Raht. Argonians kinda went through the same thing, since in Arena, Argonians didn't have tails so some people think they were Kothringi or throughout the games, it was Argonians from different tribes.

"Yeah, they're more closely related to skinks."
"But, why don't they have tails?"
"They do have tails, they just tear them off every time they put on a pair of pants."

That sounds familiar, where is it from?
