account not found using /whisper

I am having a problem when trying to whisper my friend through his account name. I always get the message "account not found", but I can send him a whisper when I send it to the character's name.

He does not have this problem when trying to whisper me. I have him on my friends list and can grp up with him np. It just doesn't register his account name for /whisper

Anyone else having same problem? Couldn't find anything about it on forums.

    I get this issue any time someone has number in their username.

    I've experienced this twice tonight. And tonight's a first for experiencing it at all.
