Crafted sets need the addition of jewelry.

As many of you know you can craft a decent set, but still need to use dropped jewelry.

All of my characters use a single crafted 5pc set, with a some items from a drop set in an attempt to get a second 5 pc bonus.

I would really like to use a two complete crafted sets to get the two 5pc bonuses. But since you cannot craft jewelry, you have to use dropped jewelry. This means you have to use dropped sets to get a second 5pc bonus.

I propose that once you have all craft-able traits researched (meaning all 9 traits for every crafted item), you unlock jewelry crafting this would be for Crafted sets only.

Jewelry crafting would use the same mats as the other crafted armour sets, but would require twice the amounts of mats to craft the item.
So if you want to craft a "Hunding's Rage" gold ring, it would take 2x the amount of mats required to make a gold "Hunding's Rage" piece of armour.

This would:
1. Make Crafting great again.
2. Think of the wonderful sets you could then craft and use.

Examples :

5pc Hunding's Rage
5pc Night Mother's Gaze
and possibly a 2pc Monster set

or

5pc Law of Julianos
5pc Armor of the Seducer
and possibly a 2pc Monster set

We have been asking for this since they took it away in early Alpha.

The Devs have promised us this since Beta/Early Live.

We are 3 years into the game.

So, probably not going to happen. At least not soon.

They took warden away and then sold it back to us. Granted reports are it wasn't ready for prime time back then. So maybe if we are lucky the next chapter will sell jewelry crafting back to us.

I come from a different pov.

I want crafted and drops to be collaborators, not competitors.

I want both crafted and drops to be needed.

To get there take weapon out of drop sets and so then you have drop exclusive jewel set slots and crafted exclusive weapon set slots.

It also ends the most onerous of the RNG hunts for drops.

How about this idea. Set jewelry has a chance to drop in the dungeons of the zones the crafting stations are in?

This, has recommended this before, benefit it that its trivial to implement.
I would prefer overland and BoE rather than dungeons, many zones also don't have dungeons.
Dropped set has an serious issue with weapons, this looks like getting less with next update and balanced stats.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

Why is there not just a merchant next to each crafting station which sells Blue, Purple & Gold Jewelry of the set in all three traits? It could even be bought with Writ vouchers so as to expand what you can actually do with them—it would be a great system.

Well, its just a different wsy than the OP at reaching the same goal as the OP which is just expanding the competition between drops and crafts.

My goal is different - making BOTH play a necessary role in builds at most every stage.

Drops have jewels, monster 2pc body, maelstrom master weapon and 3pc jewel\weapin sets all unique to them all exclusive to them.

Crafted set have convenience and style control.

Allowing crafted sets to compete for jewel slotd to me does not give them more of a place in a meaningful way. While two crafted seems oh wow to some the sheer number of drops is so large and growing faster than crafted so there is likely a drip plus crafted to get to the same place.

On the other hand what would almost certainly follow jewel crafting is jewel improvement which is more likely to make more drips in play. Right now in many cases crafting is used more for quality change on drops that anything else.

I've been wondering why they don't have it that way. Other games I've played that had crafting had all craftable gear so you could at least trick out your lowbies all the way.

It shouldn't even be that hard to implement.

    Just add it onto blacksmithing.

    Use blacksmithing tempers.

You should only be able to do it at a jewelry attunement station that you could buy with crowns or writ vouchers. For example you would take a common white ring/necklace dropped by monsters and "attune" it to a specific set. For jewelry improvement, either the existing aspect runes could be used or a new set of tempers could be introduced. This would add some value to dedicated crafters who do enough writs and can buy such stations.

Perfect solution. Can only craft jewelry at an attunable crafting station. You know. To keep it exclusive to master crafters.

Good idea let you buy them for writs currency.

How would it upset balance, starter set now is one crafted and one overland, then replace one with an dungeon set, then add monster set and then sometimes a second dungeon sets.
With crafted jewelry it would be easier to build around an dropped set, crafted already has the benefit of weapons in any trait.

Add various stone drops to ore nodes that can be used for jewelcrafting. Also add some kind of raw mat to runestones that can be used for JC as well. Make the new trade a duo, jewelcrafting and gemcutting. Give a wide range of options for created jewelry, and also add a new element to the game: crafted rune traps, a "hearthstone" that can be placed mid combat to recover mag, stam, etc. Could also add a purchased component to some of these that could act as a gold sink.

    Just some ideas.

Implementation of jewelry crafting would result in less requirement for grinding so ZOS are unlikely to do it because they believe that the 'eternal grind' will keep players entertained.

We have begged and cajoled. We pointed out you can wear 2 dropped sets together and use their bonuses. We said if crafted is 2nd tier anyway what's the big deal? Answer is always no. Maybe we'll get a surprise!
