Developers who do not play their own game happened or are hopelessness over their head with their task.
Sounds like well tuned balance Bro.leepalmer95 wrote: »But back then even magicka characters had counters, dk had wings, mag sorc shields where broken back then and ball of lightning worked on meteors and such, templars could purge everything incoming projectiles such as snipes and meteors and nb's could cloak.Don't agree with the sensational title, but many of your points are bang on.
Does feel like ur a stam player with a slight bias so nervous it was a nerf Sorc thread in disguise.
But I agree with most. Personally I think the streamers wreck the game. They male this 'meta' BS amd everyone flocks to it for easy mode.
If everyone theory crafted and built they own way game would be way more interesting.....its bending a knee to.the casuals that's wrecked it..
You seriously think ults should be completly neglected by a single skill, a crushing shock, wings, you really think that's balance? Nah, that's not counterplay, those were nothing but overpowered mechanics that completly turned the fight around depending on the circunstances. Basically if I who have wings faced this guy who coincidentally had meteor it was a free win. Or wait, sould assault, skill basically didn't exist back then casue it was completly trash, mainly cause half the server could interrpt it with a range spamable skill lol, how aweful balance was compared to what we have now..leepalmer95 wrote: »Sounds like well tuned balance Bro.leepalmer95 wrote: »But back then even magicka characters had counters, dk had wings, mag sorc shields where broken back then and ball of lightning worked on meteors and such, templars could purge everything incoming projectiles such as snipes and meteors and nb's could cloak.Don't agree with the sensational title, but many of your points are bang on.

Its called counterplay, yes some things needed tuning but you could react to everything.
Now if someone spamming snipe at you from 40m away you've just got to eat it and accept the perm 30% healing debuff.
If someones spamming birds you've got to accept the damage.
If someone uses a meteor you've got to stop and hold block and take the incoming dmg.
If someone soul assaults, you've got to block, you used to be able to roll thing or bash the person using it.

I have an idea, why don't we move most of the calculations to the client side, that way we can have one big mega server and thousands of people can play in the same instance. All those old dudes and their boring "Never trust the client!", i mean, what the heck do they know, i went to school for this, i have great ideas, this will be great! Am i right?

It went wrong the day one of the developers raised his/her hand during an architectural brainstorming meeting and said:I have an idea, why don't we move most of the calculations to the client side, that way we can have one big mega server and thousands of people can play in the same instance. What we are seeing today is still the fallout of that mistake ...

The most annoying mechanic in the game is unavoidable damage which is why I hate vMSA. With proc sets, skills like birds and soul assault with no counter play, ZOS has effectively introduced vMSA mechanics into PVP.

Yes they should. Its called .. wait for it.. skill. You can dodge a incapacitating strike why not other certain ults. Makes fighting fair apparently. Half of the time in PvP you get hit by things you can not dodge. (Works as intended obviously). If you make a mechanic like dodge and then make skills that go through it you are taking away the defensive mechanics of entire builds. So if i have figured that out: Dodge NOT ok, Shield stacking perfectly balanced? Its not like sorcs have damage, sustain, escapes, survivability, crit-immunity through shields, cc and soul assault for stam builds.
Its not like PvP in this game is already dying and is probably like 50% magsorc and 20% procblade. This is reality and not a bias... The only ones that are biased here are sorc players obviously.

When did they say this? I havent followed this game much recently. Hopefully, they moved to another project like Fallout MMORPG.

I agree.
With those two gone we lost the Enforcer system, spell crafting, and proper game balance.
