Stacking weapon/spell dmg, ignoring penetration

I think @ZoS is giving us a clue that its not ALL about penetration nomore.

Ya you can min max penetration and do end game dps with a set like spriggan/ tfs spinner etc

Even though magicka light armor has 5k pen in passive its still hard to cap 18k penetration without spinners atm ( hotr pts )

So im wondering is it possible to pull atleast 30k dps without running 13-18k penetration?

Most penetration you can get from CP is 5000. Which is like 75 CP.

So lets say you run spriggan 3500 pen + 2 krags 1500 pen or whatever it is now + 5000 in cp + 5200 breach = 15,200. Still under cap.

anybody know if you can do 30k+ without all the penetration in new pts?

30k minimum atleast.

We talking self buffed here buddy obviously in raid its easy to pull 40k+

But without warhorn without spc without worm cult without orbs without magicka steal?

Solo parse.

And my question was is it possible to pull 30k + by ignoring penetration and stacking everything else..

And I probably pull more dps than you on atleast have my toons

What evidence is there that the effectiveness of penetration itself was nerfed?

They nerfed the amount that some penetration sets give, as well as the Sharpened weapon trait. Wouldn't it make more sense to argue that penetration is more important than ever, since it's harder to come by?

Didnt say it was nerfed or ineffective.. i was saying is there a way to pull end game dps without min max penetration

Your first line alluded to a "clue" by ZOS saying that it's "not ALL about penetration [anymore]." My question is why do you think that? It hasn't changed.

I see what you mean, maybe build a weapon damage build and compare the numbers... although consistently high WD is hard to achieve properly on a ma build.
Eg, alchemist would be poop although it gives a big boost, same for ravager (heavy).
Maybe try nirnhoned weapons with kenna procced and the warrior mundus, although the sustain will be worse (kena) and I think the penetration build will be more consistent damage.

How does diminishing return work on penetration for cp?
As in how expensive is it to compensate for the penetration nerf or not running sharpened weapons.
