How long does an account remain unverified?

My friend went to make an ESO account to redeem a key, but when making his account, through habit, he put in the wrong email address, one he no longer has access too.
How long until the account gets deleted due to being unverified, so he can use that user ID? He can't remake it with the same ID as it is now taken.
If any ZOS staff is able to delete an unverified account (nothing claimed to it) or change the email, that would be appreciated. Plz inbox me.
