Quickslot difficulties in combat

I'm struggling against more powerful quest end-bosses, mostly because I'm unable to absorb a quick-slotted health potion when I'm close to snuffing it.
Before I post in the bug section, I want to know if this is a common issue.

Essentially, out of combat, with a simple click, whether mouse-bind or keyboard, no problem at all, instant potion.
When I need it in combat though, it's hit or miss. I can mash the key or button for a good 4-5 seconds on the verge of oblivion, and I may or may not get my potion.

Make sure you are not using any ability since you can not drink a potion at the same time. Only thing I can think of that might be it, if not lag.

You are not the only one ... in the heat of battle (at least in Cyro) there have been many times my pot wouldn't go off, no matter how many times I spamed my key. At least for me, to get it to work with some reliability, I can't be under attack, and I can't have any adverse effect on me.

When this happens to me the potion sound goes off so I think the potion was drank till I look down at the icon and notice it was never consumed. Very frustrating in busy battles to have to stand still for 2-3 seconds so I can drink a potion.

There's an input lag or miss that occurs with this game under heavy load conditions. Never had it in others, just this one. Skills, slotted items, doesn't seem to be limited to any one thing.

Pretty annoying.

I thought it was a bug but it's not. Someone told me they added a cool down. Impacts with sprinting too and certain actions its shite..

Yeah, this is normal for me. I have to spam the button and hope it works. I even hear the sound as if I used the potion but it remains unused. It's been like this for a long time. It's really annoying.
